My dad, for all the wonderful qualities he had, was never much of a reader, and if he ever happend to write two sentences together that didn't come across as illiterate, it was sheer luck. He was the first to admit it.
I inherited a love of reading from my mother, and I was making up stories as far back as I can remember.
My wife has a certain poetic flair, and I'm convinced she could probably do somthing in that area if she decided to work at it. But her real interest, and talent, is in visual arts. The three kids all show some talent for both writing and drawing, especially the oldest. As young as nine, she was aleady writing better than most adults.
