Hallow's Rest

Cackles chew at silk-purse ears; the bite
of chittering demons tearing at kindness,
feasting on broken dreams. Fingers claw
satin hung in tatters; uneven valance-draped
wisps filter light, already dim.

An old house stands behind ravaged trees,
windswept shingles grey and tenacious,
holding tight. The last vestiges of shelter
gleam through windows lit eerily
from within. Hallows rest at the sill
peeping in and wishing Dark House life.

Thanks to all those who guessed people so much more talented than myself...
:)
and thank you Tzara for the idea... :rose: ...of this thread.

Think I'll do the 'nana dance before the high wears off... :nana: :nana: :nana:

Yep. It's her kinda words, phrases and attitude. A leeelte bit too goth though. But hey, 'tis the season.

Or an Ange impersonator. And if so, who has the eloquence pull it off? Is Echoes_s still around?

silk-purse ears? damn it, who would say that, I know who would say that but the information is stuck in my brain and will not come out.

I still think I'm going to suck at this.

I'm sorry sweetjain but you do suck, in a very nice way I'm sure but if you read the thread Tzara guessed my poem. :D

But here's a rose :rose: for thinking I could write such a good poem. Oh and a little extra something  because you do something to me. ;)

I'm going to guess WickedEve.

Congratulations, Mr. TT. Prize info coming your way.

Next one up in a bit.

You win the consolation prize, Ms. A., for guessing correctly but not being the first to say.

I don't give out consolation prizes, though, but perhaps I could make a special request of the mysterious treebomb to give you something instead. ;)

If you want to pop my cherry
come, linger and lick
while goose down flies off
from the firm pressing of fresh
twin lips.

I lay in wait
drinking in your border, where
light meets darkness. Apply
your mouth watering cum
to my

parched
dehydrated pit. Knowing
no bounds. Only
the juicy, pungent
pie eye precision to hone in

on you.

I'm thinking RhymeFairy. Great idea for a thread, Tzara. Seasonal. Trick or treat!

He's clever alrighty. This is such a fun thread.

Tell me, TT2U would you have guessed me if I hadn't popped in with the spoiler and if Ange hadn't already been nabbed by Mr foolio?

Ange? Are you my alt? Two of 'em guessed that was you. I think you've taught me a bit about poetry, dear lady. A girl could have no better mentor. Thankyou!

sincerely,

I have to agree with the cherry-berry and blame this on RF. But since you only give prizes to the first correct guesser, that means I need to say this one could be a bluerains piece

Game theory

I see that Altmania! players have begun to develop strategies. We have, for example, the TT2U "guess until you run out of names" strategy. ;)

OK. We fix that with a new rule: You get one guess per poet. Get it right the first time, people!

Then we have Champie's "Well, only the first guess wins a prize, so I am guessing differently, even though I don't think that's who it is" strategy.

Hmmm. That one's tougher to deal with. Well thought out. Clever. Canadian. :)

Oh, hell. Good strategy. Congratulations, missy. :rose:

Carry on.
