Amorous Goods, A Literotica Anthology Series - Season 3

Mine is finished, I did some research on gemstones for an idea I've been... ok plot bunnies have been humping my shins I figure I could get 7 maybe 8,000 words. Ended up with 28,000, kinda overshot my target.

Mine is in: 30.2K words: "Amorous Goods: Black Pearls" It's mostly Amorous Goods but I'm inviting a one bomb or two for submitting it in Halloween also even though it's not horribly "Halloweenish"

My Amorous Goods: The Anklet Pair is 17.6K words and is approved as "New".

Does anyone know when the stories for Amorous Goods and Halloween will go public? Amorous Goods here says Nov 2 all stories go live, and Halloween page says winners announced on Oct 28th.

What has been happening this year is that the stories submitted for writers' events get posted as they come in, usually on the start date, then on the Go Live date the web page comes up with all the contributors. You get two spikes of page views, first on your New tag and then on the day the event list goes public. The contests are following the same pattern.

BTW - my entry, Black Pearls started with an enchanted anklet featuring a black pearl for a gemstone, and that was supposed to be the primary device but as I researched the mythos of the pearls, that backstory started to take over, then I realized that it tied in nicely with another writers event... I just hope the readers can sort it out.

My story started as one of my swinger Lifestyle stories "Hot Wife Hall Pass". When I became fixated on the Amorous Goods challenge, I added an elaborate set-up with a witch creating a pair of anklets for a husband to keep his wife faithful (the pair keep her legs together.) Decades later, this husband buys one of the two now separated anklets as a present when he gives her the hall pass, and the fun begins.

I thought with half the story revolving around the witch making the anklets and later using magic to fix a problem it might be appropriate for the Halloween event.

The first two Amorous Goods stories posted today, but the tags are not yet working to find them. Fortunately, they are both at the top of the New list.

Not sure why a link to any stories hasn't been posted. Hopefully that happens soon.

Well, there's three AG stories in the Halloween list. Thanks for giving this a go.

"The anklet pair" by Lifestyle66
"Black pearls" by Duleigh
"The Sumerian dildo" by Knowsbetterxx
I thought this is a great idea, which is why it caught my attention.

The only problem I had was in deciding how to describe the store and Vikki, the niece/now proprietor trying to liquidate the store contents.

I went back to the first season and read several stories, finding no particular commonality. So, I appropriated the idea from one or two of those using the old house feel and Morgana for her enchantment expertise. This season, I noticed Duleigh went off on an even greater tangent creating a Harry Potter-esque witching world store (I still gave it a 5.) And Knowsbetterxx also makes a store of magic experts calling after the fact to retrieve an artifact (another 5.)

So, if I were to provide an "after action report" for lessons learned, for an anthology, I would have recommended the original leader of this event to first write an intro story setting the stage and store characters. That would give the follow-on anthology stories more consistency to possibly attract readers as series followers. On a downside, that might also constrict the rest of us as authors in writing our own interpretations.

In the original thread, there was a fair discussion about the shop and staff. As you saw, it wasn't strictly adhered to. A lot of good stories were loosely written around the theme.

Oh I just found this. Amorous Goods is a set of stories from a lot of people. I misunderstood ,,, but don't think I can write one in time for the Nov 2nd date. Its a great concept!

Take it where you can get them.

I forgot that the posting dates for Halloween and AG are different. The "Go Live" date for AG is 2 November. DR - If you've got an idea - go for it!

Hmmm...that means putting off writing the story I just started....which by the way, has also caused me to pause the story I started before that one too! Hmmm....

There'll probably be an AG event around this time next year, if you want to make a few notes and hold off. It's just for fun - not a competition.

I think I'll wait then. I read the rules ... but I want to read a few more of the stories so I can do some amount of justice to the theme. Do I look here for when the next AG session starts?

My entry to this year's challenge left the ending scene open for a sequel. And over this morning's coffee, I've outlined a Word page and a half of that plot bunny.

I'm now putting the finishing touches on my latest obsession/story. And although I'm a VERY slow writer, I might be able to cobble together "Amorous Goods: The Anklet Pair-Pt 2" by the end of the month. Only my real life will slow me down.

Here's to hoping there's enough coffee to keep me moving on it.

I just clicked "Publish" on my follow-on "Amorous Goods: The Anklet Pair-Pt 2" story. I asked that it still keep the "Amorous Goods 2022" tag, even though it doesn't make the list. I'll continue with this scifi series, because I still haven't freed Teresa from her anklets.

Sorry it took me too long to make the deadline, but Fantasy Fest real life had my wife dragging me to too many bars.

I see Laurel added "The Necklace" to the list.

My sequel is now approved in Pending to publish tomorrow, Nov 7th. So, watch for "Amorous Goods: The Anklet Pair-Pt2."

It's a little more rushed to finish than my first AG story. But I wanted to keep the momentum with those interested in that first story to see if they appreciate the scifi direction of this one.
