Samuel couldnt be more wrong. Puns are in fact the universally consistant device of humorused in every known culture, across every language.
His mistake is assuming that his bastardized, polyglot excuse of a first language (mine too) shares the limitations that other pure languages do.
English with its germanic roots and liberal pilfering from the romance languages, has more then it's fair share of words that rhyme words of similar meter words with double meetings with the same spelling.... so puns only look easy in english. Puns are much more highbrow and subtle in other languages.
Um, I don't get it.
