First off it's not the high score authors. It might be a rabid fan or two and even then, they are not going after a borderline 4.5 story. They would go after stories that threaten their favorite authors position.

I'm not sure that's totally true... I think the 1-bombers are just hate-filled losers whose only joy in life is causing pain for others. They can't write; their stories don't get good ratings, so they do everything they can to knock down the scores of those who CAN write and write well. They manage to find each other and travel in packs in their 1-bombing as well. And it looks like there's nothing we can do about it if we can't prevent anonymous voting.

Explain the scores and overall praise for the works of qhml1, Tx Tall Tales, Rehnquist, Longhorn, Stangstar, FrancisMacomber, evanslily, HLD, and SW_MO_Hermit then?

Also how the hell can anonymous voters find each other never mind travel in packs? Getting rid of anonymous voters will hurt the bad writers way more imho.

They don't necessarily travel in packs. there are software programs that cause the IP addresses to change or appear different therefore allowing one troll to hammer away as many times as they choose.

But trolls do seem to "find" each other as well. Newer writers suffer more because they do not have a fan base that counteracts the one bombs. Once you have built a solid core audience their votes will always compensate for the bombs.

Yup and that helps with the score, but as far as the nasty remarks, nothing stops those.

But I'm the type that laughs at them anyway. Besides what's fun is leaving the nasty ones up then watching other people attack your attacker.
