Anonymous Feedback (comments & PM's)

I feel my post is being taken out of context, which is stupid since from the first post I've made pretty clear what my problem is.

My problem is assholes and cowards HIDING behind the Anonymous Feedback feature. More to the point, my issue is that a coward can opt to leave an anonymous comment to your story and trash you for no reason other than they have nothing to do.

I'm not so egotistical that I want the whole world to kiss my ass and worship my writing. If anybody actually bothered to READ my posts you would easily see the source of my frustration.

I don't give a flying fuck if a reader sits through my story, signs in with their user name, and then outlines their issues with my writing/my plot/my characters/my grammar/etc. So long as they actually sign in with their user name and leave a comment with their UN then I'm fine.

But looking through several topics in this forum that talk about comments left or talk about anonymous feedback received via email, there sure are a lot of fucking pussies that delight in harassing hard working authors and its these anonymous cunts that my issue originally is with.

Sure there's the disabling of votes, the disabling of anonymous feedback that are options for the writer to exercise. And thats helpful for part of the problem. But as I pointed out (and if anybody actually bothered to read my posts in full and not just pick out tiny portions to focus on) you'd see that I'd had two stories posted within the last month that wound up with flaming anonymous comments left behind.

And these anonymous comments were left on different newly posted stories even though I'd disabled anonymous feedback.

TO REITERATE FOR THOSE TOO LAZY TO READ MY POSTS: I don't give a fuck about negative feedback, I give a god damn when a pussy ass coward leaves ANONYMOUS COMMENTS behind when they're too scared to sign off with their actual user name.

Vets of the forum and site said "Good luck! That'll never happen" so I figured if the anonymous comments won't go away, fuck it I will.

But again let me repeat for the too-lazy-to-read-through-this-thread: MY PROBLEM IS WITH ANONYMOUS COMMENTS THAT ARE LEFT BEHIND FOR THE PURPOSE OF TROLLING AND BEING WILLFULLY IGNORANT ASSHOLES

If you man up and leave scathing feedback with your user name, I respect you. Its the cunts that abuse the "leave anonymous comment" feature that piss me off. And as I was told early in this thread "if you don't like it, take your ball and go home."

And that's what I did. Except seeing how my inbox tells me I've got so many replies to this subscribed thread (which I never actually subscribed to in the first place) I check what's new in here and almost everybody is repeating the same thing back to me even though almost nobody's bothered to read my actual grievance.

Instead I'm told "disable your feedback" "disable the votes" "not everyone gets perfect feedback always, just accept it" but that isn't the issue I brought up.

My issue was, is, and always will be this: If I disabled anonymous feedback ages ago, why was i still receiving anonymous comments on my stories? Why should pussies and cowards be allowed to hide behind anonymity and troll the hard work of authors across this site?

Those are my questions, which almost nobody bothers to answer since they seem to focus on "Oh loki you just have an ego, not every writer is perfect, get over it." Again that isn't addressing the points that I've brought up, and either way, Laurel I am grateful that you removed my stories. Thank you so very much.

There is a very simple answer to this whole problem, and I am amazed that no one has stated it yet in this thread. As a matter of fact, I can not remember ever seeing it brought up in any of the threads on this subject. It is a simple matter of psychology, and if one thinks about the whole situation analytically, the answer jumps right out at you ……

And while we are on the subject..... Many of the best of Lit that used to post here have quit posting for the exact reasons in this thread. How do I know this you ask? Well it is quite simple really..... They told me..... And they told me where they post now, and I enjoy their `New Stuff`. I do not agree with everything the other places do in the way of comments and voting, but most of them `Trolling is not tolerated ..... Nuff Said

If you allow `Trolls` to `Reign Free` they will eventually ruin the game for everyone. That is there intention, their mission you might say. I dare say that a lot of them, DO NOT EVEN READ THE STORY THAT THEY COMMENT ON..... They simply pick an author, not at random, but one that they have read at one time, and pile on the havoc..... And why do they do that? ....... It is a `Power Trip` because of just one tiny thing that stares them in the face every time they go to comment ..... That's a hint <g>

If you take away the most important `Play Toy` and ignore them completely..... They Will Go Away..... I say this from very long experience, and I know this to work. They are really only `Little Pitiful Fly's` with nothing more in their lives but misery and woe, and everyone one else must be miserable also for them to exist.

I do not mind a `REAL` comment of any type, at least one that is constructive in some way and made in earnest `Good` or `Bad`. But comments that border on the psychotic, and also in the realm of pure psychosis are of no use whatsoever to anyone involved. The best thing to do with those is to delete them from your comment section and forget about the `Little Fly's`. Delete the rancid e-mails they send and go your `Merry Way`. Never give them power over you..... That's another hint <g>

I see your point

I find that most of the feedback I get (which isn't much) to be very credible! I love when an apparently non-writer (for how can I know what they do in real life?) enjoys my story! And if not for the readers, why post at all? And, frankly, it creeps me out, the thought of only writers critiquing my stuff! I'm thinking writers would be much harsher judges. Have you ever read through some of the Story Discussion critiques? Yikes! Takes some real maturity and balls to do that.

You are right; authors are by far the harshest critics. When I posted my first stories I got brutalized for spelling and grammar. My reaction at first was to be angry and hide, but I realized that they were right and that if I was going to continue, I would have to improve. I now have everything I write edited. I have also gone back and corrected the mistakes in my earlier works that raised the ire of the readers.
The point is that their criticism made me a better writer, and that is why I started posting in the first place.
I have to admit, I haven’t been criticized for the content of my stories, so maybe my view point is somewhat skewed.
