Anyone for a nightcap?

something happend to my alchohol tolerance...after a few glasses of wine the other night I was quite tipsy...but no hangover, thankfully! hopefully I was just tired.

slightly OT - during a year long deployment lots of other spouses and I started drinking vodka (a lot) and when my husband came back I was able to match him shot for shot. Then I gave up my bad habit LOL

Evening all. I am tipping back a glass of wine. Something white and cold - sorry no details beyond that. Just had a long, hot bubbly bath. Tonight is movies on the big screen, fireplace, cozy slippers, good friends.

Tomorrow is...

Mwa ha ha!!

Hope you are all well.

I'll have what she's having, especially a big healthy serving of that mwa ha ha! :D

Finished off the Bonterra Merlot tonight with a burger. Not quite as good as their Chardonnay, but better than most at this price point.

I just got home from after-work-happy-hour... two smallish raspberry margaritas, and confirmation that a co-worker is kinky. LOL

So....it sounds like you had suspicions about said co-worker. What kinds of signals did you get?

She's the only person I work with who didn't look confused when I mentioned my roommate is Poly. ;)

we were comparing notes on the difficulties of dating, and I said beyon the whole cultured/brilliant thing, I have the added "joy" of being kinky as hell... To which she replied with the sticks&stones/whips&chains ditty, and I blew back with "Exactly, except it's much more interesting to be told - stand still; this is going to hurt."

At that point we ordered another round and agreed we knew we got along well for a reason. LOL

Isn't it cool when things like that happen?

Hmmm....I'm not familiar with that variation on the classic ditty. Wonder what it would take to be able to hear you sing it? ;)

I'm having some Bailey's tonight, though with the coolness outside it would go really well in some hot chocolate. Still delicious straight. :D

Anyone else for a glass?

"Sticks and stones may break my bones but whips and chains excite me!" ;)

Tonight was a celebratory glass of wine (as bad as it sounds thank god my trainee got fired today) followed by appetizers and a frozen 'rita for late dinner.

Yes please - I have been trying the flavoured Baileys as well lately. So far the coffee one is the winner, although the caramel one is pretty good as well. The mint one? meh, not so much.

Baileys is really easy to make as well - I found a recipe, so that's what a lot of people are getting for Christmas from me. :)

Really????? That's way awesome! Bailey's in itself is pretty expensive, so if I could make it from lesser ingredients.... well, okay, that could be dangerous.

I've only tried the caramel one, other than the original. The original is too good to stray from, really, though I did have high hopes for the mint. Thanks for the heads up, I won't waste my money on it!

*pours a glass, sets it out, then heads to bed*

I had some homemake baileys at a party once and it was sooo good.

I usually have a bottle of baileys on hand in the winter to add to my cocoa or coffee. We always have spiked coffee on Christmas morning...nothing like starting off the day buzzed, esp. when kids wake you up at the ass crack of dawn!

Baileys and cornflakes for breakfast makes for an interesting start to the day ;)

not that I've tried it or anything...

A few days late, but he brought over a Prosecco the other night for dinner - Prosecco is officially nummy. I can't remember the rules/explanation/whateveritis, but it's not quite champagne and not quite a sparkling wine, except that it is.

I must say even though the relationship itself, isn't nearly kinky enough for me, the friendship/good good/conversation/wine stuff is nice...

Dry Prosecco is indeed outstanding.

Sparkling wine made from Italian grapes and fermented in tanks = Prosecco.

Sparkling wine made from grapes from the Champagne region in France and fermented in bottles = Champagne.

That's the rule I was forgetting! Thank you!

I've come to realize that part of "not liking wine" is not knowing enough about it/having the opportunity to sample things. He has access to the family's wine cellar (within reason) plus the knowledge to make a good choice, so every time I make dinner he brings a bottle or two of something new. LOL

I had a couple sips of dry sherry the other day, even though I'm fucking tanking again. My own fault, way way way way too much steak at one go. Fuck I'm sick of being sick.

I just poured the last of my (cheap I know) pinot grigio. So sad to see the last of the bottle LOL

...my standard Level Kamakazi on the rocks. Have had the strangest day. Ups, downs, good fortune, bad luck, goodness, temptation, regular, strange.
