I love both. They are called Brombeeren and Schwarze Johannesbeeren respectively.It works fine - in fact I've just put them into a tub as individual berries. When you make a pie there's always plenty juice but they keep their shape as much as fresh ones.

Here's a blackberry, that grows in hedges. Sometimes also called a bramble
and here's a black currant... sometimes called Ribena
