Areas for growth

bumping an old, but excellent thread on growth. Hi Red :rose:

If I look back, there has always been a point in my submission where something inside of me screams and prevents me from going as far as I could. Ego? Fear of losing control? Self-preservation? I honestly don't know how to completely leave myself, nor am I really sure that's a skill I really want - the ramifications being what they are.
fear, when allowed to snowball, can become a powerful force in one's life. there have been times when i've been my own worst enemy by allowing myself to live in it. i think we've all been down that unholy road before at one point or another in life. finding the courage to face those fears, and bring them into the open can provide an excellent opportunity for growth~ even though it may hurt like hell to do so.

growth can be so painful at times that it brings you to your knees, overcome by emotion and tears. only by accepting that pain, and embracing it, can you truly learn how to fly.

Great bump, and also a great post Arden. Fear can be crippling to our journey, often in ways which are much more scary than facing that fear becomes. It is a good lesson to learn and one which often needs revising periodically as we let our mind over rule what we need to approach with trust.

one big area for me is "general obedience"

not the following of commands and orders that have just been given, but remembering and following those things that are ongoing and continuos.

things like when to kneel and when not to. when it's ok to speak and when i have to ask permission. also following relativly simple but really long orders, or ones with multiple parts to them.... any hints on how to get better or remembering all this stuff?? im trying, i really am....
