Artwork and Images - To Catch A Fancy

I think it's a dead and not innocent, loved one, or same one. I see desperation, guilt but not of own making ( in colours) powerlessness.

Certainly could be, I enjoy your observations, but I have to argue about it not being of their own making.

Instead of outright anguish, I see a silent sort of lamenting in that face. Not crying out loud/surprised, but silently weeping for the death of something or someone that was one of a kind. The muted expression and fact that it's " tears " are either the same color as or what makes up the form it's holding, speaks to me of a certain amount of personal involvement in whatever it's still clinging on to. Worst type of guilt, is when we can see it coming, but only fully realize we did in hindsight.

"Spanish sculptor Javier Perez depicts delicate human forms, with skin taut against bone, emerging from twisted dead wood in his installation Trans(formaciones). Created using bronze, parchment and polyester, the sculptures express the texture and positioning of mummified corpses. At times the pieces evoke the feeling the human forms are one with the wood, in others they are crawling out of the gnarled wood."

Dear heart...I can see exactly why this interpretation comes to your mind.
