Beautiful Christmas-coloured display of the northern lights last night here in Banff National Park! Fun story behind this one: yesterday afternoon I went out to skate on Lake Minnewanka with my daughter and a friend. Upon returning to the shore we noticed many people had built snowmen - the snow was perfect for it. Among all the great snow art I noticed one particular family busy taking a photo of themselves with the family of snowmen they had built. Hours later, around 9PM, when the aurora data started to look promising and it was time to leave the house and head out to chase the lights, I knew exactly where to go for my foreground! So thank you, mystery family. If you're out there, give me a shout so I can send you a print!
