Believe it or not, I found the courage to say all of this in one way or another and she still wants to keep trying...she's either a saint or a masochist!

That must have been such a hard thing to do! Wow.

I'm guessing she's neither a saint nor a masochist. She's in denial, or she sees that regardless of what you say to her, you're still with her, so there's hope. As long as you keep staying with her, despite anything you might tell her, she'll actually be right - you haven't gone anywhere, you're still together.

As if this whole thing doesn't suck already, my partner has now been diagnosed with Lupus.

Life can really suck sometimes.

We had to put one of our dogs to sleep yesterday.

Whatever the outcome of this scenario, you can rest easy knowing you've taken the right steps to sort this out. If you had stayed passive and not let your feelings be known then it would have been a disservice to yourself.

Thanks. But I fear I am still doing a disservice to myself and to her by 'trying' to keep the relationship going when I feel in my heart that it won't last. I'm trying to get the courage to address that with her.
