I know it's discouraging to have the jackasses flame your work after you've warned them it's a bi male story. Hell, the title should have tipped them off in the first place.

The problem gets to be, there are people out there who have made it their only purpose to write nasty, stupid bullshit comments like the ones that you're talking about. The big question gets to be: What the fuck are these shitheads doing on this site in the first place?

I completely agree. Ironically, from some of the comments it is obvious that they read every word of the story, then flamed it on the basis of homophobia. It seems like maybe they're repressing something and are getting angry about it!

Then, if you'll notice, the ugliest flames are always by dumbasses too ball-less to put their names to them.

There's an option when you submit your stories that lets you allow/disallow anonymous feedback. I've activated this on *all* my stories. Sure, it means you don't get quite as much feedback - both negative *and* positive - but it does mean that it helps keep the dumbshits who obviously only read the story so they *could* get offended to a minimum. You can also disallow the public feedback it you want. This means you'll only get email feedback. And if you have the anonymous disallowed, you won't get anonymous feedback through email, either.

I don't know if you've deleted any of the public feedback (yes, you can do that) but if you've noticed, both from chapter 1 and 2, that the general consensus is that you need to keep going. Fuck the idiots (and not in any good way).

I have been deleting feedback in the form of personal attacks, but leaving feedback that was objective. For instance, I deleted the post that said, "I hope you die of AIDS you worthless fucktard faggot." But I left the one that said something like, "This story is a piece of crap."

Great call on disabling Anonomous feedback. My sense is that if people have to use their screen names, they'll think twice before they post.

Remember, all the rest of us aside: If you're enjoying what you're doing, keep doing it. Not enough people get to do things they really like, and what you're doing is fine stuff. That what you're doing is appealing to others is icing on the cake.

I know I miss 'em, because I don't check every category, I can't. I mostly check the most likely suspects.
