I have found this particular "kink" to have varied degrees of extremity as with most things. So I do get your point, we all want to be seen as a sum of all our parts inside and out however, is it not also fair to enjoy if a person likes one specific thing about you? For example, I have found myself attracted to people that made it clear my eyes are what drew them in or my ass. To me it's just a difference of someone saying they "love my ass" vs. they "love my big fat ass". If someone is attracted to my skin tone or body shape, then great, but I just don't like feeling like that's all they see when they look at me. Maybe it's just the qualifiers that don't work for me. It's a blurry line for sure and speaks to my own insecurities.
Also, I wholeheartedly realize the irony of my saying I've been mostly attracted to white men. Am I attracted to a guy because he's white or do I find myself attracted to a man and he just happens to be white? Like I said ..blurry...at least for me.
