I remember the good old days when wearing a bra was for the older/mature aged women who didnt feel that womens rights were an acceptable way for a ''proper'' lady to behave.

With any dramatic weight changes, either gain or loss, you should be refitted. I believe that the rule of thumb for weight change is about 10 pounds. I would also recommend a professional fitting rather than trying to take your own measurements and deciphering for yourself. Most women think that they are at least one size smaller than they actually are.
From this males perspective, it's very unattractive to see women bulging out of an ill fitting bra, regardless of her weight.

I used to hate wearing bras because I felt so confined. I'm on the large end of the boobie spectrum though. I go without one at home all the time. Sometimes I'll feel rebellious and go without a bra in public just because I can. But now that I've discovered that there are actually pretty bras for larger ladies I've been having fun shopping for sexy bras.

I go braless as often as I can, but like Bandit, I usually wear a bra when I go out of the house, for 2 reasons. 1 - I'm rather 'well endowed' and feel like my tits look better in most clothes with a bra on, and 2 - I have fairly big nipples that get hard when the wind changes direction, so if I didn't wear a bra (and sometimes even when I do) my nipples can be pretty obvious. Hot looking sometimes, yes, but not necessarily when going to the office or grocery store.
I could understand why it wouldn't be when going to the office. I have always felt that this world isn't kind to the opposite sex when it comes to your tits and how if you show too much of them you're a slut or people see you as such. I also feel guilty looking too long at a woman like you who is 'well endowed'. in my defense, it is hard not to look... It's like taking a picture of the Mona Lisa and putting it in the public square. Tell people not to stop and stare.... It can't be done. No offense. It's a compliment really.

I will admit to occasionally going braless to work. And when I do it, it has nothing to do with comfort. Of course, I will usually wear a shirt that will hide most nipple problems . . . er. . . . presentations . . . whatever, anyway, I did it only on a dare, once, and discovered I liked it.

Bras serve an important function, as others have said. I have large breasts - I'm an F, and sometimes a G. Without a bra they'd just flop around, heavily, all over the place - and hurt my back. And my nipples would poke out so obviously it would look ridiculous in public.
Yes, a bra can make you feel constrained - it's really a harness, and a taut one, in effect. But it gives your breasts support, and makes them look more presentable. I'm thirty now, and my bust is not quite as pert and horizontal as it once was.
And if nothing else - other women get very very bitchy about any women they notice is going bra-less. There's no quicker way to earn catty remarks.
