SR has edited for me before, and I know he's edited for others. His technical markup was spot-on, thorough, and cited from the current authoritative texts on creative writing. The side notes about storyline elements were extremely helpful, pointing out viewpoints and pitfalls I hadn't considered.

He doesn't feel the need to claim ( and actually, doesn't desire ) any credit for the editing work and impression reads he does for writers here.

The smears that he "does nothing for anyone" are either misguided, or completely disingenuous attacks by people who know better, utilized because he doesn't leave a "paper trail" to disprove them.

That said - following SR around and leaping on his every post, trying to pick a fight even when he's simply answering somebody else's question, is NOT normal or healthy behaviour.

AS, from some of your other posts it's clear that you're in a bad place and you're hurting, and I don't have much advice to give on that. But I do know that fixating on SR is not going to help you get out of it, and I suspect deep down you know that too.

Please talk to somebody IRL about it - if possible, a professional - because picking at it here isn't the answer.

Yes and we had a film called Hot Fuzz. I actually had to explain to some youngsters that The Fuzz, used to be a name for the police. Anybody over thirty knows what it means but that doesn't mean they use it. When was the last time you heard "Here comes the fuzz" as a bunch of hoodlums break up. Much more likely you will hear them scream "B-i-i-i-ll"

I hear "the fuzz" more than I can imagine hearing "the bill", but that might be regional. I think shouting "Here comes the Bill" sounds faintly ridiculous outside of the South East.

In Liverpool you most often hear "the bizzies" (origin obscure, but I think short for "the busybodies"). You also get "the filth", and "coppers".

Thanks for your support and concern. Yes, I do have issues. And yes, I am consulting professional help. And I do try to avoid this place at all costs because I know that this will happen when I do. Just feeling so depressed. The tornadoes haven't helped either. Not blaming Mother Nature but the weather hasn't exactly been uplifting. Okay, will pull up my bootstraps (whatever that is) and will move forward.

Thanks for your tolerance. And to SR and the Mod and all else, I do humbly apologize. I think I come to this forum because it's like home to me. Maybe I need to find a new place to come to when I'm feeling depressed, angry, under the weather... when I'm not feeling myself.

In the UK a woman's purse is something for holding her money and credit cards etc. I believe you call this a pocket book.
What you refer to as a purse, would be called a handbag here.

A wallet would normally be used by a man for holding things like cards, driving licence and bank notes(you call them bills).

Some men also carry a purse for coins. It is normally accepted as a sign of being a tight wad (stingy)

I think "tosser" has the same nuance as "wanker", really. It means the same thing. (Wanking versus tossing off.)

I don't think so. It would come across as an old-fashioned word for briefcase I think. There isn't really a word yet, I don't think. Americans made so much fun (and still do in jokes) when French men began carrying purses that the American clothing industry just went to more and deeper pockets on men's trousers. I'd certainly like to hear a term that's acceptable in American English for a men's purse--but can't think of any.

Yep, any of those words for a woman's purse would work. Sometimes you can get specific and refer to a "clutch," which is almost like a big wallet. It's a purse but has either a short strap or handle or none, so you have to clutch it in your hand (I find this to be not worth the effort).

I think in the Gunslinger series, Stephen King had the protagonist, Roland, carry a purse, which meant some confusion when he met up with some kids from "our" world. For Roland, it was normal that men carried purses, but it does take a little getting used to for those of us in this universe.
