There are plenty of restaurants in Reston, not sure about Brewpubs or other night life places. I work in Tysons but there are no places there that I know of where you can really mingle with others in hope of meeting someone. Maybe your hotel bar will have a crowd.

I went to the Crater battlefield one time and it was really cool to see. There are lot of Civil War battlefields all through that area of Virgina if you enjoy and have time to tour them.
