The food's good for what it is. I don't say that to disparage the place, but it isn't fine dining either.

Jackson's can be a meat market...mid/late 40's & early 50's divorcee's. I used to work near there; we'd go there for happy hours after work and a younger coworker once remarked "it's a place to watch old people mate."

It’s possible. I’m not very familiar with the area, but wouldn’t be surprised if we stayed in Richmond.

Definitely stay in Richmond vs Petersburg, but that’s just my opinion. Have a good time!

I'll second that. And make it the West End or Short Pump areas if you can. That's getting away from Petersburg more, but hotel and restaurant selection is better.

God I miss Monterey, I was in the military in the language school, but that was back in 1990-91; we called it the "Defense Love Institute" There is a statue at the bottom of DLI called the Sloat Monument. The legend goes the eagle at the top of the monument will fly away when a virgin graduates DLI...
