Can you explain how Trump can be re-elected?

They spent eight years broadcasting their absolute hate for and lies about Donald Trump. Him allowing them into his residence is a measure of his towering character and testimony to their lack thereof.
Trump has a soft belly at times, letting them interview him is abolutely horrible. Next will be the cut and pasters at 60 minutes and that dolt Lester Holt on NBC

I'm sure they joyously consumed large amount's of crow pie for all to see. Last major event for both of them before MSNBC goes on the media trash heap of history. Maybe Al Sharpton should sharpen his pencil, he'll need one to fill out his unemployment app.

I agree, Trump made them relevant, maybe not such a good Idea. Show's Trump's ability to forgive but never forget.

Social democracy has value in the free societies that use it.
How? Most of them are largely dependent on the US and even with that most of them are floundering in economic stagflation and a cultural war with the 3rd worlders they've been importing wholesale for the last 15 years....LOL

They're not dependent at all.

Then why are they so upset about the prospect of us taking our security forces away?

They have better, healthier economies.

Nope....even as fucked as we are they don't even come close...we have several STATES that are better.

Military spending is irrelevant here.

Yet you and they both wail at the notion of the USA leaving NATO and forcing them to fund their own security forces....LOL REEEEEEEEEEEEE!! REEEEEE!!!!! OH NOES DON"T TAK THOSE SWEET SWEET BILLIONS UNCLE SAM!!!! REEEEEE!!!!

Which is it?? Is NATO crucial to European security or is the USA irrelevant there? Can't be both!!

Fact is fewer people voted for Trump than last time. But the Dem vote fell way off, so the question is why that is, considering that DJT is almost comically vile and corrupt. One person's opinion, and we'll see and know more once the more granular data from election day is known, but in my opinion the Dems have moved away from the "working person" to more of a Hollywood appearance, and so embroiled in identity politics where this group or that fights for attention and importance with the others, that it went too far. Many mainstream Dem voters, not in said groups and a lot in the working class, didn't see how voting Dem was in their interest. Not many changed sides in absolute numbers, I don't think, but a lot stayed home. Labor is a great example of that. A lot of it is Hillary hangover that only got worse.

Not to the original question, but politics moves in waves and so it will this time too. The midterms campaigns start in about 16 months, so if Trump does what he says he will do, there will be a mighty backlash. The Rs know that, and the Ds are counting on it.

Just for accuracy, Trump received 2 million more votes in 2024 than 2020.

Clearly it's because white people and people assigned male at birth are just so vile and evil....shame them more!!!

The idea that there will be backlash if they actually deliver on their promises is funny.

D's are counting on RINO's in the Senate keeping him from doing anything. IF he just secures the border? Democrats aren't winning shit for a while......

Sure, when the US military is set onto the states, you don't think there will be backlash. When social security and medicare are affected, the nearly 80 million on it now will cheer him on, you think? I understand your view and congratulate you for your ego moment, but in politics nobody gives a shit until it affects them. You may feel differently, and that's fine.

Thank you, you are correct. Trump actually got 76mm vs 74mm (my memory was 78mm in 2020). But look at the dropoff from 81mm for Biden in 2020 to 74mm for Harris. That's really what happened, not that Trump was any more popular. Kitchen table issus, I suspect, along with the identity politics. We'll see what comes next.

They can afford their own defense -- NATO offers the advantage of unity -- if you fuck with Europe, you're fucking with the U.S. None of which has anything to do with the economic health of the social democracies.

Depends on the state and conditions.

When social security and medicare are affected, the nearly 80 million on it now will cheer him on, you think?

I think all the ones with an IQ above room temp know those are getting affected no matter what. If orange man takes those issues on, it will be because he was the first to get to it. Good thing Dems were tackling the tough issues...like putting tampons in mens rooms and trying to figure out what a woman is.

I understand your view and congratulate you for your ego moment, but in politics nobody gives a shit until it affects them. You may feel differently, and that's fine.
It does affect me....I'm one of the millions of millennials who's labor and property boomers feel entitled to.

I feel differently because I'm part of the group that's getting fucked.... not the group doing the fucking. ;)

As a non-american person, I just don't get it....
And I've spoken to many European or non-american and they don't understand either.
How a man with so little respect for women or anyone different than him, not to mention his law troubles, can be re-elected?
Please explain to me in a respectful way
Hello Almost, as with most human behavior the simplest explanation is usually the best explanation. In 2016 there were two factors 1) Clinton was an unpopular candidate and 2) the US has just come off of 8 years of Obama with relatively slow economic growth. In 2024 similar factors were present...Harris was an unpopular candidate and inflation. So, in some respects Trump was just the guy in the right place at the right time.
