Canada from Eh to Zed

Another Canadian protest gets out of control. Honestly, sometimes I am so ashamed. Sorry for the rude content below, everyone. Sorry.

No doubt this has appeared here before, but a) I am much too lazy to check back to find out, and b) this just tickled me when I saw it earlier today.

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend to all my fellow Canucks. Hope you all have an awesome weekend, however you define it. For me, this is always the weekend to get the rake out...(this is the BDSM forum so perhaps I should clarify;... for the leaves)

cheers

I have a feeling this woman is an immigrant to Canada. She *can't* be a native...

Neighbour wants $25,000 for compensation over noise of
boy playing basketball in his driveway

BRENDAN WEDLEY | QMI AGENCY
PETERBOROUGH, ON - A woman in Peterborough, ON is demanding $25,000
in compensation from her neighbour because her teenage son is playing
basketball too loudly in his driveway.

-=-=-=-=-

It's the second push by Langdon in as many weeks to stop the 17-year-old
from playing basketball in the driveway between the two houses. A week
earlier, Langdon issued a press release to inform the public that she has
asked the province's Environmental Commissioner to investigate.

Yeahhhh... you can read more about this dingbat in the Sun News article linked through the headline above.

Definitely an import. Or a future export.

Basketball? Pfft. The kids in our old cul de sac used to play lacrosse. Ever have a lacrosse ball come flying in your general direction, unexpectedly? Now there's some stress!

I just started watching Trailer Park Boys. Very un-Canadian, eh!

GSP! GSP! GSP!

Wow, it was worth the pay-per-view fee for this UFC. George St.Pierre did Canada proud. :D

Sorry, dear. I did a search, and couldn't come up with any that weren't watermarked and/or required royalty payments. Perhaps someone with PhotoShop skills might create one just for us?

So after almost a year of skulking around Lit, decided to finally introduce myself...and found a whole room of fellow canucks, or fellow canuck wanna-bes :)

This photo made me REALLY LOL

Welcome, have a nice day and sorry subby_kitty! How are you enjoying toque season so far?

What happened to the Tim Bits in that crime above?

They got away with all the dough.

Canadian Winter Traditions!

Or...

One Out of Five Ain't Bad!

OK, out of this list, the only tradition I am familiar with is the Xmas light competition, which I will have no part of. Except if I did this...

ditto.jpg

Taffy pull? Nope. And what does taffy have to do with single women?

Cookie baking parties? Well, maybe no one invites me because, um, I can't bake.

Lobster for Xmas dinner?? Holy cumoli! Sign me up!

La Fête du Roi? Choosing your monarch based on who gets a bean in a slice of cake? Only in Quebec...

Let's see, what Canadian winter traditions do I take part in?

1. Annual Sorrel dusting. Wherein I dig through the dusty corners to find my winter boots that I hurled away in a fit of pique the previous spring.

2. Expedia search party. This is where I sit alone with a bottle of gin and frantically search for cheap airfare to any place that does not have a minus sign in front of the daily temperature.

3. The month-long festival of mall avoidance! From Dec. 1 - 31, watch as I find creative ways to avoid all shopping. "Honey, we're out of food!" "We can eat styrofoam, it's filling and has no calories. Honestly."

I'm sure there are more. Anyone other Canucks have some favourite winter traditions?

WHEW! Tragedy averted. That was close, eh?

Indeed, a national tragedy averted. By some accounts, you were only four short stacks away from oblivion. Might have had to devalue the loonie to keep the economy afloat.
