Chaos: Don't Stress, Undress

Really don't know that I can teach anybody anything other than perseverance. If you have a good idea for a picture then keep trying different things till you get it right
I have fairly mediocre editing/manipulation skills but wanted the pic below, I posed the front image about 10 times till it matched the back one 🤣
My take on being told to 'go fuck yourself'. 😁
I have to agree here. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Just work on getting a little better and don’t give up!
The pic is fantastic and I’m sure it took a fair amount of work in snapping the shot but also in editing the final result. 👊

Nice wind chimes! The set of photos includes silhouettes taken as you describe. However this photo was taken as we played around with moving me in and out of the light and saw that the photos from this angle with the camera pointed somewhere between the light and the dark created this shadow effect we both liked. I'm posting it because so many of my favorite pictures are the result of playing around, either with the setting or with what I am supposed to be doing. Be creative!
Be creative and have a good time doing it. If you find that the process is a chore then that will show up in your picture. But if you are enjoying the process and having fun getting doing it then, no matter the end result, you’ve had a good time.
Light and shadows are our friend!

My two cents on lighting, camera stands, editing apps, and edit tips.
Great info, JAF! In addition to using a voice command to take a photo, I also love a bluetooth remote shutter (photo attached). They're fairly inexpensive (~$10-15) and super easy to use. The only time I have a problem with it is when both my hands are in the photo. Sometimes I can hide it, but not always. I do like it more than the voice command, because if I am more than a few feet from the camera or my back is to the camera, the voice command tends not to work... even if I yell. 🤣

I guess my big take away is-- tape is your best friend, take those wide angle shots, and yell cheese. 🤣🤣🤣
At least I know that it's not just me yelling at my phone. 🤣🤣🤣

You made me remember this trick-- if you are trying to go for a relaxed, slightly open mouth (like made in a gasp)... blow a raspberry or make horse lips (blowing air out and your lips flap/buzz). It sounds stupid, but it relaxes face muscles and will allow you to have that perfect, relaxed "o" look.
I have also heard that saying the word "plum" leaves the lips relaxed and slightly parted, which is supposedly sexy.

I would like to know what programs/apps y'all were using last week to get the really intricate filter effects.
Like Mizz, I often use Picsart. I have also used Pixlr.

What I’ve learned from the great master @Indie is the key to a great booty shot is taking a video and screenshotting the frame you like best. It sure beats setting a timer and trying to leap into the pic before it’s taken. Also, I must give @morelikeasong credit for inspiring this pic 🍑
@Willingtoshare has given me the same advice for photos in general.
And your photo is 🔥🔥🔥

I took this one a few weeks ago, and I like how it turned out. I taped my phone to an esthetics lamp, & used a remote to take the pic. I closed all of the curtain, so the only light was from a small window over the bed, and I tilted my head back as to not block any more light. I played with the saturation & tone a bit, and @lavendersilk suggested putting the vignette filter on, which turned out to be an excellent idea!

Your photos are always amazing... glamorous, sexy, and professional quality. Thank you for the tips on the lighting. I think I need to find some light sources besides the natural light or recessed ceiling lights I usually have. And you did an excellent job hiding the remote.

How did you keep the remote out.of.the photo?

Oh, I love it when teaching and experimenting has such delicious results!
