In photobucket you can edit pics just go to the pic where you still have the addy but its the only pic hover the arrow over it and when the options appear above the pic click on Other options on Edit and it will let you shrink it

Also when you search for pics, if you find one you like, rather than save the full size one, save the thumbnail, which you can just post as is. This gets tricky if there are alot of complicated elements in the pic, because you can lose that. But AV's should be simple.
