I tend to be direct. There is a time for tact. When it's needed, I'll attempt it. You were chiding people while admittedly not knowing the facts and you picked a side with extremely limited information. I'm sorry you didn't like being called out for it. Perhaps think before you speak next time.

Im not doing your homework for you, we can either choose to know what we are talking about or we can be (won’t say his name, this isn’t the politics forum)

I agree a healthy discussion is good, but it’s been when it’s a dialog where we are exchanging and responsif to what folks are actually saying and understanding the points of view where people are coming from.

Monologues are a very different communication technique from a dialog. Now we can get into the nature of is Lit a cliquey experience or not. I’d tend to think it’s no more or less cliquey than the world at large.

People naturally are drawn to those that bring them joy and improve their daily experiences. I’m vocal but my close audience of engagement is pretty narrow, which may come across as cliquey or not, I don’t know.

But there are very few people in the thread being discussed that reject anyone coming in friendly and respectful. You come in hot or start calling people names, you’ve broken the mores of a community and it becomes hard to recover from that like any other community.

I’d say that thread, in particular has been very welcoming to people relatively new, much more so than threads centered around one cult of personality which require fealty to that personality.

Making friendships on here does not equate to cliquish behavior and I’ve seen very few instances where someone, in almost any thread, has coming in being a nice person and not been allowed to sit at the lunch table with the other posters. If you’ve observed such behavior, as one who is calling clique, please point it out and feel free to name names, even if it’s mine. I’m a big kid, I can take it. If you are just calling clique without hard evidence……well then you are just being annoying for the sake of being annoying, which is the worst.

Many of the things we are discussing are matters of opinion. There will be different opinions. I know some people really like the thread and feel welcome. I made a statement from my point of view and made for the provision that I can be wrong. If you are so set in your ways that you can't make for that possibility, then you should reconsider how you approach topics of discussion. Several people have mentioned that they don't feel that the thread is inclusive, by nature. Even some of those you tagged.

It's a healthy discussion, bogey. I'm not sure what kind of bad day you're having, but take a breath. Crank up that oxygen machine and sit back and have a breather. :) It'll be alright, bogey.
