I agree, House of Worship does a very good product. My next custom will probably be from them, if I don't go for another Meschantes.
Kitminx, congrats on improving your FOH corset by adding steel boning. The main difference between a play corset and a real corset is what the boning is made of - anything from VS or Frederick's is going to have plastic boning and thus isn't much more than a plaything. (I don't mean to sound elitist, I know many people don't have the money for a real corset or don't choose to spend their money on one...but the fact is that plastic boning is not a real corset.

Great time for a bump to this thread, btw. I recently received my new one from Meschantes (their Victorian Overbust, fully custom) and yesterday we took some pictures.

So i was out shopping with mom yesterday, and figured while I was out and I had a bit of extra cash I'd go check out the nighty store and see what they had in corsets. Well, I've always stuck to the renisaince style before, but all they had were stretchy ones in a stretchy satin, and I didn't like that. So I figured I'd try the victorian style one on. The problem I usually have with those is that they flip down on me, but this one didn't, and it didn't feel like i was going to flop out of it either! And to beat all, I had to try on the 38 because the 40 was too big! 
But the 38 was just a little too small, so I figured I'd wait a month and I might try it again. But omg did I love the feel of that new stiff corset.

That's what I told her. The one I found was a nice one too. Could probably use a little more boning, and it lacked a modesty pannel in the back, but it would be well worth just buying it than trying to make a duplicate. The price of this one wouldn't even cover my time, let alone materials. *giggles*

Looking good! Was that your first corset project? Have you sewn clothes before? Corsets are very difficult from what I understand, and I wouldn't even consider making one myself, it's much too hard. (I don't sew at all!)coy_one said:
