Crafty Litsters show your work!

If you just want to cast a few simple shapes, sand casting is the way to go. But if it is an intricate shape or more than a few identical castings, then a silicone rubber mold of the original lets you cast a lot of wax copies. They can then be "invested" in refractory plaster, burned out and metal poured in the void.

But the commercial RTV silicones are not cheap. They are fine for small object, but if this stuff works for larger things, I'll be happy.

:D

What does it say about me that I keep misreading the title of this thread as, "Crazy Litsters show your work!"?

Cute, Elle! :)
My shells all seem to end up as cat toys eventually. They seem to love them  :cattail:
This is a much more constructive use.

Your cats are healthily frivolous. I'm not sure ours have even ever noticed the shells:confused:. ( except when we have shell fish. They love them then! )

They love the scraping sound of shell on tile.
I have to take them away at night or they will keep me up :p

So my first runway is over. My gown literally stopped traffic on the way to the venue.

Wenchie! That is lovely! And so good to see you.

Thanks. :) feeling a little lighter load with the runway done with.

That overskirt fabric is gorgeous and you sure did it justice! Fabulous!!!

Thank you.

I've been told that I played the peacock princess very well.

These were also mine

And a few others...I ended up with 8 looks I think, out of a total of 21 models for our team.

I adore the red and gold one!

Really great Wenchie! Your presence on the shot is tremendous too.

Thanks guys. :)

It consumed my life over the past few months, but the runway was more than I could have imagined.

Now here's hoping it gets me the attention that I need from where I need to get it. It's hard having a Prada attitude in a Walmart world.

Very nice, Wenchie! Did you create those boots as well?
Really lovely fabrics and designs. You're very good at what you're doing :)

The boots were another designer. She did all of the jewelry and accessories. I picked the boots and noticed that the leather was worn in some places and asked her if she could cover them. Or I'd make some spats. I gave her all of my scrap fabric and she came back with that. It was amazing!

And thanks. :cattail:

Hi. No, I'm not back. I never left, either. I just don't post much any more. Age does that to you.

Anyway, I thought I'd give you all a thrill. You might not consider it a thrill, and I understand that and accept it. When I say "give you a thrill" I mean it as a joke, really.

I'm a musician and have been for over 40 years. I'm also a song writer. In the last coupe of years I've acquired some pretty nice VST software and with the help of MIDI, I can sound like most anything I want. In this case, it's an orchestra.

If you're not aware of such things VST or VSTi stands for Virtual Studio Technology and MIDI stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface. The lower case i in VSTi stands for instrument because you can also have other kinds of virtual sound technology, like effects and such.

These two technologies, a MIDI keyboard, sound card and recording software and you are a string section, brass and maybe a whole orchestra, among other things.

There are several tracks on this...piano, strings, solo instruments, etc. but I thought I'd let those of you who like this sort of thing to hear this. You can check the link for other tunes of mine, too, but some of the older ones are pretty crappy quality, because they are...well...old. I'm old, what do you want?

Just sit back and listen. Don't think of it as one guy playing a keyboard. Picture yourself at a concert and an orchestra is playing this song. I call it "Haunted". I hope you like it.

1) totally a thrill. NOT kidding. Both to see you posting here and to listen to your work. It is awesome.
2) I know we have never talked off the boards, but I have read lots of your posts over the years. So I miss you (oddly) and understand why you aren't posting much these days. (yeah - I'm old too - just newish here)

Everyone should take the time to listen to this track by DVS -

Due to a genital picture non-disclosure agreement, there will be no picture of the use.
Just think of a larger version of the one Shanky posted.
