Crafty Litsters show your work!

Nothing to show yet, but after two months of anguishing because my Muse took a vacation without notice, I have twelve beads in the kiln, cooling down! I sat down not knowing what would happen, and the time just flew by. The only reason I stopped at twelve is because my back and shoulders started fussing at me. I have to get back into torch-conditioning. LOL

I worked with a color scheme that I've often considered but never done before: coral, black, turquoise, and ivory. I've always loved coral & black together (makes me think of Cartier's Art Deco period), and the turquoise goes with both of them so nicely (very Navajo/Zuni), along with ivory for making the other colors pop. Pix when they are cooled and cleaned. :)

Looking forward to seeing these. they sound wonderful!

Does anybody here make or use walking pole or staffs?

I was looking at some beautiful hand craved ones today and the carver? Whittler? Was saying the length must be so the elbow is at a right Angle. I was wondering if people who make or use know if there is ever flexibility in this. I was considering one that gave me more flexibility to use at different places depending on how 'old cronish' and stooped I feel, so I can grasp lower, or even high if I feel need?

To be very clear this is a long pole not a 'walking stick'

When going for a walk, i'll quite often cut me a staff.
Normally of a length to amke it reach shoulder height.
Hazel is abundant around here, growing all over the place in "mouse bushes" from the caches mice never ate.

But I normally walk and talk more than I whittle.

This are awesome, Meeks!
I love how he put stars in the heart and bell.
And your new Av as well! Likey likey! :)

I mentioned the chain maille class I took today in another thread, and figured I would post the finished piece here. I'm really happy with it! The silver is bright aluminum and the blue is rubber...kind of tricky stuff but those rings are really fun. The pendant is about 3" top to bottom. It matched my daughter's dress really well.

Beautiful!!!

I'm still stuck in limbo not able to do anything. Near as I can tell shoulder surgery will be in about 6 weeks or so.
No date yet. Switching insurances from PPO to HMO so I can afford the surgery.
This will be the 5th new tendon. :( Last time was 4 months in the immobilizer.

So I guess what I do could be called "scrapbooking" but I make the "pages" huge and hang them on the wall.

Unfortunately cropping for size made them look smooshed and cut out some of the personal touches.

I'll have more to show this weekend. I'm heading to Sedona this afternoon, by way of Prescott to visit with a friend and have an early dinner together (and I have a late Xmas present for her). Then over the mountain to bunk down. Thursday and Friday I'm taking classes with one of my favorite glass artists. I'm so eager to learn some of her techniques and grateful that she's willing to share and that Master is allowing me to go. See you on Saturday. :)

So in May I will be having some of my designs walk down the runway at a local fashion show. My first.

The entire event is a dedication to David Bowie, my team has "The Labyrinth" and I have the ballroom scene.

I'm so excited I can barely contain myself.

Congrats! I trust there's an alarming codpiece in there somewhere.
