Hi all, I'm looking for someone who might possibly have some insight on making rope floggers... paracord, braided poly, hemp...etc.
Thanks

yup.
And in case they don't fit or I want to adjust something, I can just re-melt them.
It looks crazy and a bit intimidating, but large cable ties are great for measuring.
(Standing in the workshop with the trousers around your ankles and a cable tie around your balls is not something you want witnesses to!)
Lady C found the Krummschwanzgerät entertaining by the way, but also considered it to be a bit disrespectful to The Honorable Worm.
.... it is quite clear who only has the fun, and doesn't have to lug the thing around.
Laughing at the mental pic of C in the workshop with dropped trou!
Maybe it's not a great idea to s3ll them.Yesterday I stopped by a shop that will sell handcrafted items. The lady wanted to know if I was active on social media.
I really wish I had not listened when I was told "you can make those and sell them". Sure. I can make them. But selling them? Not so easy. Not when most people want cheaply made goods. But damn, I still like to make things. I love the hum of my sewing machine
Here is a chessboard that I finished today. Maple, Walnut and Spalted Sycamore.
Just lovely!!
And, I'd skip the dovetails on the drawers too (they were a pain and add nothing).
I was fooling around in the Castle Cumference workshop this afternoon.
Because I just wanted to do som casting and soldering, I made a set of "alternative wedding bands"

The important thing is to educate your audience! Explain (in positive terms) why your items are better than inexpensive imports (aka, in my world, Cheap Chinese Crap). What makes your work stand above mass-produced items? Expound upon that, but also realize that there are those who will buy at Tiffany's and those who will buy at JCPenney, either by situation or choice. Find your niche market and work them!
