They just came in from skinny dipping (in the story) so who is bullshitting. It IS the sixties so that's good. They started calling each other "good buddy" when they were 7 years old. And all day means 24 hours, how many people spend 24 hours in a row with their male friends. Every step you take, you prove me right, lophat. And in the story there is as much reference as is allowed to their having 'exploratory sexual contact on sleepovers when they were pre-adolescents. It's all there, but you have chosen only those elements which SEEM to prove your point, which is what people do who are wrong!
