I think it cuckolding happens more than most people realize. It does not help that there are various names and definitions for it. Like to me there is a huge difference between "cheating" and "cuckolding", but that is just me. But then there is the term Poly Relationship, and Open Marriage, and the terms muddy the waters...

All very different things. Cuckolding generally means the guy is being 'cheated' on (with his knowledge) and enjoys the humiliation of the wife getting more, or better, pleasure elsewhere.
