Deal breakers...what are yours?

Absolutes:
Mean or cruel people, bullies
Arrogant and/or angry assholes
Bigots, racists, ageists, ableists, and other distasteful sociopaths

In general, people who are not considerate of others. The narcissistic personality type is a type of sociopathy that your normally easy-going author just abhors.

Serious:
Shallow folks
People who don't read
Clueless fucks
Heavy substance users

I'm assuming the question regards personal relationships. In healthcare I give loving, respectful treatment to every human being.

Do you mean people who don't read books for pleasure? OR people who don't read signs and instructions and just fumble their way through life then blame it on others when they've broken the coffee machine because they didn't read the sign that it had to be turned on in a particular way?
That sounds like a very specific example…

Serious deal breaker for me:

If you don't like kids.

I don't mean you have to want them yourself. You can choose not to have children of your own, or choose not to date and marry someone with kids. That's not the issue.

I mean - if you dislike kids on principle. If you choose to never find ANY pleasure their presence (family members, friend's kids etc). If you never engage in the child's imaginative world for one moment when they present you with a cup of tea from their kitchen. If you can't feel that buzz of warmth in the pit of your stomach when a child laughs at something you've said or done to entertain them for a moment.

For some people, they're passionate about saying that if you don't like dogs, that's a huge red flag. For me, it's kids. Kids are little people. Kids are literally our future society. You don't have to have them in your life 24/7 but you need to respect them if you want me to respect you.

(Wow. I got serious. Scared myself there. Stopping now.):ROFLMAO:

Oh no, I don't judge folks who don't read instructions (unless they're, like, really fucking important!). Maybe they need glasses or cataract surgery or are dyslexic or never learned how.

I meant people who have no interest in life outside their microscopic sphere...people who don't read novels, don't read non-fiction, don't read the serious news, don't really have any context or understanding for whatever it is they believe. Like people who live near me who, in their entire lives, never cross the border into Canada...which is only 15 minutes away! I grandly sweep this into the category of "willful ignorance," and it's extremely unattractive to me.

But then, I am an arrogant SOB.
