To tell the truth I've never understood the issue with D&D - I've never been interested, but you'd swear it's up there with worshiping satan - the way that some people react.

I don't get it either. All I can think is that people are making judgments without trying it. Same thing with Harry Potter, etc.

I'd say you are probably right on the money with that assessment. I know that is what Dh's brother and sister do. I don't know your son's age but it's very dark. Also White Wolf has discontinued it in favor of a new game, Vampire the Requiem, that they hope will make people buy more stuff from them.

They also make Werewolf, Mage, and other games. Google White Wolf and you'll see what they have.

My daughter has also played some Harry Potter RPG's and Star Gate. There are RPG's online for practically everything. Including the Dragonriders of Pern!

D&D is based on LOTR's. It's just a game. Not played by people wearing robes, using candles, (unless the power goes out) or any of that crap.

I just remind people more deaths have been attributed to people obsessed with various religions of the world than by those who play D&D or listen to lyrics of X song.

Oh way cool! My daughter is deeply into the Dragon Riders books! My son is 12... almost 13. Yeah... Runescape is computer based. I know he prefers tabletop too, but it is so hard to arrange schedules around visits and stuff.

I used to love those books too. Once upon a time there were some table top materials for playing it too.

Googling most any interest along with the words online RPG will get you there but you never know how many jerks there are going to be at a online game.

The Harry Potter games my girl did seemed more like school to me that playing. I never understood how it could be fun.

I haven't had a doctor even talk with my specifically about my throat ever. When I was very young my parents said some doctor told them they needed to let him take out my tonsils but they refused. I'm not sure why he said that or why they refused.

I avoid doctors whenever possible. I see only my ENT and Dentist regularly. The ENT seems to only think the problem is all allergies that, btw, only manifested when I went into being a private contractor about four years ago.

He seems to think that two expensive drugs once that make it difficult for me drink much will work. Oh and visits to him when things get really bad which ALWAYS result in him giving me a shot in my ass work! Gak!

To be fair, I haven't lost my voice since I began seeing him. Yet, I still do wake as I always have, as far as I can remember with a sore throat each and every morning until my new "therapy" was "hit" upon. LMAO.

Now if only I could do that therapy more often!
