Delete Racist Feedback?

Disemvowelling

Acquiring a permanent following of trolls, or even of only one troll, shows you've arrived as an author. If you find any of their rantings sufficiently offensive personally, by all means remove them.
On some boards, the board owner lets the offensive comments remain, but "disemvowels" them.

That way, someone who {for whatever perverse reason} really wants to know what the troll said can figure it out, but people who casually come across the comment won't be offended.

I doubt we have the capability to edit others' posts here, though. Darn!

For those who were wondering, here's a disemvoweled version of the above paragraphs:

Delete what comments you like in a totalitarian repression of free speech; you have the power. It's just not Lit's ethos.

You confuse racist with rude. Dolly pulled your argument in a way that you failed to grasp. 'Dumb' is not racist in any meaning of the the word and taking a pop at bottle-dyed blondes like me got royally screwed by Dolly.

I think you need to review your definition of 'racist'. I really don't see it on Lit

You need to read beyond the first post.
I said i had adopted the attitude of Dolly Parton who know she aint dumb and knows she aint blonde.

In my case my writings were described as typical indian rubbish and I was described as a Paky Pom and told I should write for my own breed.
Now I know I aint indian and I know I aint a paky pom so adopting Dolly's attitude I should just ignore the racist slurs However, a lot of people who read the Lit stories would be offended by such posts. It is not my definition of racism that needs reviewing . It is your tendancy to go off half cocked without reading what has been posted.

Another vote for delete

As authors, we apparently have the obligation to monitor what's posted on our stories. I've deleted patently offensive comments that had no relation to the story.

On a site like this (where we post for free), we're doing it to make ourselves happy. If someone is making you unhappy, push that ol' delete button and banish them from your kingdom.
