So after reading all the comments and thinking about it some more, I came to the conclusion that I liked the sex, but just not with a another guy. I had just figured it should be "better" than with the dildo, but when it wasn't, it made me wonder.

It sounds like you're a het guy who likes that kind of stimulation. Your post reminded me of lesbian partners I've been with who enjoyed being penetrated, but were only attracted to women. You may be in the same boat.

I do want to bring up alternative possibilities, though.

For instance, is it possible that your first experiences were meh not because they were with guys, but because they were with guys you didn't really click with? It does happen. Some people have a harder time finding compatible partners than others. Only you can say if that's the case with you.

Having had more time to think about it, I think I have some additional insight. Using my toys (both solo and with my wife), I get a certain level of satisfaction that I guess I "expected" from the real thing. When that didn't happen, I guess I associated that disappointment with the "real" dick, and that's what prompted me to start the thread.
