Do you ever get tired ...

Great discussion!

I was already pretty comfortable talking about all things sexual with my close friends -- if they asked. Now I just happen to casually mention something I read on Lit w/o a thought. No one thinks much of it, only that, "Oh, you frequent an erotica site? That's interesting ... "

Now, in terms of my internal editor with acquaintances I have to be a little more careful lest I accidently send them into a tizzy. I find it so sad that anyone can start flapping their lips about porn but when it comes to erotica it's a completely different standard.

I have noticed that my erotica 'dar is much more attuned now, and I can almost *tell* who's amenable to discussing such matters and who's not. One of my co-workers who I really didn't know all that well saw me reading Lit one day and I just causually mentioned that I like reading good stories. She piped in with a couple of site recommendations and we started a terrific friendship. We can talk about absolutely anything, but when we're at work together it's all in code. As I posted elsewhere, God help the next man I end up with: he will not know what hit him.

I second Cate: God, I love Lit! It's like home here ... :rose:

:D It was funny. But it sparked a very illuminating conversation.

Before Lit, I didn't even know bondage might be of interest to me, let alone bring the subject up. I'm sure he thinks I'm going to hell in a handbasket. I know for a fact the he thinks I have no sense of decorum.

But I do--I'd never ask his mother if she's ever tried being tied up. Let's not even go there.
Just keep my name out of the whole thing friend. I'm too 'sweet' to go to hell. :p

I just talked with a brother a few hours ago. He told me he read some of my stories (I had given him copies back in the summer of '04), I was shocked, as none of my siblings wanted to even know what I was doing on a 'porn site'. He told me I had quite an imagination and also what stories he had read... I didn't comment on the ones he hasn't read as yet. I think I would have been pushing it, so maybe in a few years he'll tell me he read a couple more.

I do temper my thoughts with people until I know where their 'sensibilities' may lay (lie?, never can understand that usage).

I feel nothing and nothing turns me on any more.
See, I feel more turned on more often (okay, almost always), maybe because it's in my consciousness all the time and I'm able to see things in a different light or be open to all of the possibilities.

No, I don't get tired of talking about sex so often, but I do get fed up with sex-related specifics here, namely:
a) the dead horses
b) the posters who are clearly seeking fodder for masturbation in places like HT; I used to respond not knowing any better, but now am thoroughly tired of it
c) those who just seem to not be able to "turn it off," packing every post with as much innuendo and blatant sex as possible, responding to HT questions with, "PM me, baby, and I'll help you perfect your oral skills!" and similar (I expect this in the PG and Personals, but get irritated when I see it in here and elsewhere)

Ex-fucking-actly. :)

C in particular really pisses me off. I can remember a thread from a few months back in which a woman had some questions about orgasms; despite her and her partner's efforts, she'd never had an orgasm. There were a couple of posts in that thread that were along the lines of, "Come see me, baby, and I'll make sure you cum." What the fuck? If she wanted volunteers, she'd have posted a fucking personal ad.
