Or is it a term younger men use to refer to women older than themselves? If so, then the acronym is a misnomer, as the "mother" part has nothing to do with it.

Or, does it refer to all women of a certain age, irrespective of the user's age and the woman's parenting status, i.e, all women between the age of 30 and 45?

I think this is one of the most ridiculous and overused terms that has crept into our language.

It is borderline offensive to me as a mother and a woman who knows how to separate those two definitions.

I do agree that the term is overused, but I think the role has a very real place. There's something that harkens back to adolescence, a combination of a memory of that one friend's hot mom that you lusted after and the notion that you know a mom is not a virgin, that she"puts out." All very juvenile, but I find sexual emotions that date back to adolescence are among the strongest for me.

Nope, I don't have sexual thoughts or fantasies to impress anyone, they are simply my inner rights. I agree with you that labeling every woman over 18 a MILF is tiresome and frankly I don't like the term at all, pretty objectifying. Just pointing out that the sight of a beautiful woman with kid in tow does trigger something almost primal in me. And it's not a fetish for me, just one of the many little things that can get me going.
