Does anyone know the meaning of this symbol?

I'm still determined. It might really help to know if the head is pointed upward or downwards, as both images are so vague.
i think i found the iguana with the head pointing down, but who knows the correct orientation for this one.

If this symbol is so obscure why do people keep recognizing it?

Maybe he necklace has nothing to do with it, could be the Dolce & Gabbana...

Lol, I found that exact same picture AA
edit
also found this

"Lizards frogs
Engraved in many diverse ways these creatures have oval, rectangular, diamond-shaped and elongated bodies. According to pueblo mythology, before men emerged to this level of existence, the people were not fully formed and had tails and webbed feet. After having traveled through the four underworlds and the sun hit them they were washed, tails cut off and their digits were separated. The tail of the lizard could equally represent a human phallus hence the term "Lizard Man" was coined. Frog glyphs share the same identity of the lizard."

lol, probably doesn't help that much but oh well.

OK, I'm going to take a stab at this. After visiting many different sources, the most common definition of that particular symbol seems to point to:

God of fertitality, portal into the dream world, and to the navajo's, preservation of ancient secrets. If I find anything cooler, will let you know but those were the most reoccuring and closest to your necklace in appearance.

Edit: Oh yeah, forgot to mention agility and abundance. That combined with the "God of Fertitlity" aspect could be what your friend meant by "Top."

Any insight into why seedy drunk men keep trying to pull me into dark corners?

It looks like ET after he's been on the rack. As for the seedy old men...it's snowbird season my SoFla compadre...they must think you're cute.

Well not that I can blame them, but there are plenty of cute boys around. The confidence with which these men approach me is what I find puzzling. They seem genuinely surprised with my reaction and I swore one dude pointed to his neck as he walked away.

Hard to tell from the pic but maybe it symbolizes two males facing away from each other joined at the ass by a cock.

Well, maybe you should go over to GLBT and ask there. Maybe someone there will know something people here don't. *shrugs*

There are a few different possabilities which have absolutely nothing to do which your choice of jewellery.

You have to bare in mind that the BSDM community has strong routes to the old guard/leathermen community. A friend of mine quite regularily attends demonstrations held within the club scene, and has much the same problem. So do his friends. So do a vast majority around him.

A lot of times assumptions can be made too depending on the places you are frequenting. In my area, we don't have strictly BDSM clubs, so the gay bars slot in a day or two out of the week in which they will host kink nights. Some of the people might be strictly straight, but still a high majority will either be regulars to that club or bi-sexual/gay within the scene.

Because of the leatherman routes I mentioned, the clothing you choose may have a big impact as well. If you are sporting even the slightest bit of leather such as a vest, pants, or even jacket, they might associate you as one of them. An unfair stereotype, but it does happen.

The man who pointed to his neck may well have been trying to let you know that he is an "uncollared" submissive. Whatever the case, you are not alone. This is a common complaint, but you either adjust to it or stay behind the "scenes."

Though I have never been to those type places, my female friends tell me they get approached by a lot more women then men. It's bound to happen in a lifestyle where straight seems to be the exception rather than the rule.

Way ahead of you sweetie. No responses in the thread I started over there.

OK, this is precisely the reason I took a two week break from Lit.

I don't live in BDSM world or something!

These incidents occured at normal hang outs, or at least as normal as any hangout in South Beach or Fort Lauderdale can be considered. And I don't own any leather, although I do wear chic Italian clothes very well for a breeder.

Lizard (Aztec Day Signs )

I found info that it is a Mexican lizard. An acient symbol Meso Deko.

http://www.deniart.com/meso.shtml#

this site may be helpfu.

The Meso Americano Series contains over 235 characters in four distinct typefaces. The Aztec Day Signs are based on the 20 Days of the Mexican Calendar Stone; the monumental glyph style Maya Day Names contains the 20 day names of the Maya calendar as well as the 19 Maya numerals while the Maya Month Glyphs contains the 19 months in the Maya solar year as well as the 19 Maya numerals; Meso Deko includes over 90 characters and are based on the decorative symbols found on pottery and walls throughout Mexico and South America.

Wow, one of those Meso Deko symbols looks like my tattoo. Interesting, I bought that pendant because the art style reminded me of my tattoo. At a Mayan store as a matter of fact.

Here's a site that shows the symbols

I still don't know the significance.

And responses like that are precisely the reason I rarely bother to research and try to answer questions anymore.

i just noticed something. In most of the images we've found, including your last site, the lizards have a tail.

Yours doesn't.

Your tail has been taken?

Might be giving off the wrong signal big boy ...

Actually there is a short tail that is partially chipped off. Go bother Aeroil.

So it's a salamander and not an iguana.
