Does Donald Trump have Dementia?

"Dementia" is a clinical term. It shouldn't be used unless there's real evidence that substantiates its use.

I don't think Trump has dementia. I watched the entire Trump-Biden debate. Biden clearly is diminished from the person he was when he ran in 2020. Trump, to me, looks like much the same person he was in the previous elections. He's ignorant, and he lies all the time, and he speaks like a 5th-grade playground bully, but he's always talked that way. During the debate he was alert and attentive and he made some effective rejoinders to Biden. Biden looked lost and couldn't put words together.

Trump is 78 and it's likely that his faculties are showing some signs of age, but I don't see it as dementia. It's just a mild erosion of what was already a pretty low starting point, intellectually speaking.

Did you listen to Donald Trump's recent interview with Elon Musk? He was slurring words and losing his train of thought. It was much worse that President Biden's performance during the debate.

Have you actually listened to Trump recently? Not just the auto pilot memory of bombastic 2016-2020 Trump but the Trump who has been showing up recently in the last 12 months. Slurring words, making up words, can't hold a train of thought, confused rants, mixing up people repeatedly, forgetting events... he is a train wreck.

A rational person can't look at Trump as he presents himself currently and say that he's a well man cognitively.

Some of it, and I don't agree with you. He does slur a bit, but that's not evidence of dementia. I don't think he loses his train of thought so much as this has always been his style: he's not a linear thinker. He free associates. He did that in 2016. In terms of loss of pure cognitive abilities, Trump is not faring as badly as Biden. I don't think it's close. There are other reasons to object to Trump, but I don't believe dementia is one of them. Trump was reasonably coherent in both the debate with Biden, where the contrast between Biden and him was stark, and in his convention speech.

I think there's been some cognitive decline, which is understandable in a person who is 78, although I know people older than that who are much sharper. But I don't see it as dementia, and the decline certainly isn't as noticeable as it has been for Biden.

These are symptoms of someone with dementia:

Cognitive: mental decline, confusion in the evening hours, disorientation, inability to speak or understand language, making things up, mental confusion, or inability to recognize common things

Behavioral: irritability, personality changes, restlessness, lack of restraint, or wandering and getting lost.

Mood: anxiety, loneliness, mood swings, or nervousness

Psychological: depression, hallucination, or paranoia.

Muscular: inability to combine muscle movements or unsteady walking.

Also common: memory loss, falling, jumbled speech, or sleep disorder

😳

Be honest and tell us how many of those symptoms of dementia Trump exhibits. We’ll wait.

😑

Next, we’ll examine Trump’s sociopathy / psychopathy and malignant narcissism:

Donald Trump is losing his marbles

He can no longer follow the plot or distinguish fantasy from reality. Maybe surviving an assassination attempt affected him, but it appears that the prospect of losing an election to a Black woman is more than his diseased ego can bear.

Here’s my question: Is there anybody in the Republican Party with the presence of mind and the political courage to imitate the Democrats? Persuading Joe Biden to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race was difficult and painful for all concerned. Particularly for Biden himself.

Yet Biden’s age-related infirmities were nothing compared to Republican nominee Donald Trump’s. Prone to stumbling over words and intermittently forgetful, Biden appeared unlikely to carry the burdens of the presidency for another term. Yet when confronted with political reality, he acted appropriately. History will record it as among his finest hours.

Trump, on the other hand, has gone completely around the bend. Some apparent combination of senile dementia and mental illness has rendered him totally unfit for public office. To put it bluntly, the man has lost his marbles. He can no longer follow the plot or distinguish fantasy from reality. Maybe surviving an assassination attempt affected him, but it appears that the prospect of losing an election to a Black woman is more than his diseased ego can bear.

And all of the food looks real (not props), so the rich clueless dumbfuck just spoiled all of it by leaving it out in the heat and sun for a couple hours.
