Stolen stories

I don't think this site has been mentioned and they've got one of mine.

http://fuckingteens.blogbugs.org

Odds are, if they got that far down the top lists they've nicked stuff from other people as well. There are no titles nor authors on the site, which looks like a ramshackle affair. You might want to check it out to see if your stories are on there.

I was feeling pretty sanguine about all this - I didn't think my stories would be popular enough to warrant stealing. I'm sort of flattered, but simultaneously angry.

I'm flangry.

Here we go again!

Thanks for the tip-off, Maharat :D

The stolen story site:
http://onlinesexstories.org

The host, to send complaints:
http://www.3fn.net/

The abuse email for the host
abuse@3fn.net

I see lots of Danielle's stuff, big chunks of Dry Valley, Literotica Olympics, Snippetsville... pretty much the same as last time. I'd say there's a good chance it's the same jackass.

If you find your stuff, start whipping off those abuse emails. They don't have me, so I don't have a complaint to send - yet.

The avalanche of abuse emails got the last one shut down, so hit 'em again! Provide a link to the stolen story, your story on Literotica, and a demand that the story be removed immediately from their servers for copyright violations.

==============

Easy way to find out if you're on the site...

Do a google search, using something like this:

olympics site:http://onlinesexstories.org

Note: The link is automatically generated, you just want to type the "site:" part into the google search form, like any other search term.

That quickly turns up all the Literotica Olympics stories. Just search for your title, and then use the "site:" to search the stolen story site only. That way, you don't have to mine through the whole annoying place looking for your stuff.

You could also use character names, place names, a short snippet of your story... pretty much anything. The fuckwit steals everything wholesale, changing nothing, so you should be able to narrow down your search and find your stuff in nothing flat.

The .org site is still up. He has none of your stuff though. I wonder if they are getting to be afraid of you.

Danica is very popular with these guys:

It looks like the same guy keeps stealing the stories.

I am new to this forum and want to thank you for letting me know that their are sites who have stolen stories from literotica posted on then. If I see any, I will let the author here on literotica know. I hope you were not too inconvienced. Hugs....thanks!

onlinesexstories.org is still posting lit stories.

Just found this one.

http://onlinesexstories.org/2007/02/24/rachels-butt/ (oss post from Saturday)

http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=194716 (lit story from 2005)

I'm writing them to let them know. But with something like this, make sure you point out without credit or permission it's violating the DMCA, and as such, since you are making them aware of the offending material, if they do not remove it, they will not have the Safe Harbor provisions that are given to web hosts, and will open themselves up to lawsuit under the DMCA

Did anyone notice the OSS site categories are the same as for Lit?

I didn't quite get how to google search a specific site for your story. Maybe someone could give a little more detail with an example that works?

They have a search engine on their main page.
Try a word from your title, they copy everything verbatim.

Typing "alrana" for example, shows me my stories.

Unfortunately, Annie, This is a Russian gang that doesn't really care about the DMCA and prosecuting them would take years. They know that. The only way to stop them is to work on the server operators. Laural is already doing that, but that takes time too.

That's what I meant actually, with the server operators. Technically, if they're in the US, there's something called Safe Harbor for ISPs. Basically means that if you notify them of infringing work officially and they don't remove it, they lose protection from prosecution and lawsuit. And since their server operator has a US office, the more proof that they were officially notified of infringing material, the more likely they'd lose the case. So if you see a story of yours up, look up "DMCA takedown" and find what you do for the notice, email it, save a copy, and Laurel could have a lot to do with things later...

I sent a DMCA notice, though I had to click on so many confirmations and such, I doubt it will get anywhere.

When enough of us send these notices (make sure they are accurate!), the blog site gets taken down.

Just a word of advice- check Alt.com and BDSM Library. Those are the two that my stories keep turning up on. BDSM Library is good about getting them down quickly. Alt.com is a nightmare to deal with. It took me and the webmaster of a site 3 months to get my stuff off there. There blogs over there that have nothing but stories on them. Rather than out and out delete the blog they just yank your stuff and leave the rest.

I once spoke to an Italian and asked him how he felt about the fact that there were so many masterpieces of Italian art stored outside his home country. My supposition was that he would be annoyed that, say, the Mona Lisa was in Paris and not in Rome or Milan. In reality, the Italian answered, he was happy that there was such a wide dissemination of masterpieces, so that as many people as possible could appreciate the genius of Italy.

Of course, everyone has different perceptions, but that is one way of looking at it.
