"E" doesn't apply to women, so.....

Agreed about people reporting. I also, just realized that women are more likely to have tons of post and pages, making it harder to find the images. Where men have less posts and easier to find the pics.

Sorry but that's bullshit.
I tried it and the pic got removed within 48 hours.
It seems like there are more outraged guys because girls play by the rules more often.

And there you go.
Seeing as they removed it, it looks like they're not sexist.
Point proven? Ah think so.

Run along now children.

I think my point is still valid. I said not sexist. Just harder to see with the massive pages in women's threads. Calling it bullshit however is a bit misleading since it does happen. Not sexist but does happen.

Its about being fair- not sexist. Having one photo removed and having an entire thread removed is not equitable. The point is for Lit to be consistent in what is and is not acceptable.

hahaha of course they removed it from a thread discussing the problem. sorry kiwi, but i disagree that this proves anything. my pictures that were removed were on the very same page as a picture with a pussy as a main focal point. you can't tell me they didn't look at all the pics in a thread were they deleted 2 out of, what, 10 or 12?

Or it's because hardly anybody report the pussy pics, but people will report the cock pics! The moderators can't view every pic that's posted, and thus they rely on posters reporting pics that are against the rules. If they give a warning or not, well I guess that depends on how much time they have on their hands. There is a warning posted about posting pics that are in violation with the rules, and they might mean that is enough warning. And if they have to PM every poster that post pics that are in violation, and then follow up on the threads, it can take quite a bit of time. And the moderators might not have much time, and they also do it on a volunteer basic.

well then - it needs to be one or the other...

either delete without warning or give a warning to everyone. i think that's all anyone is really asking for as a bottom line - fair and equal. The day my 2nd thread was deleted without warning, a friend was asked to take down his cock shots... so it does work both ways. Just depends on who gets reported and who the mod is.

To be honest there really isn't any discrimination.
I've had at least 4 or 5 close ups of my vagina/ass be deleted because they were against the rules, and I haven't posted them since.

The moderator noticed that 1 out of 4 guys stuck there "giant wiener" in their avatar and flung it around all kind of threads, and since that was obviously against the rules, there had to be a sticky made almost explaining what the rules really mean.

The reason they do this has to do with legal things I myself don't want to take the time to learn about. But those rules are there for legitimate reasons.

I, for one, find it refreshing finding less cocks and pussys in my face all the time. Full body shots are always the best :).

EDIT: @dean
If your thread was thousands of posts long you'd be a lot more upset than if it got deleted at about 200.
It may not be fair but it makes sense, if it's possibly to delete the thread in the beginning, than that is the most efficient way of getting the point across. Mods realize, though, that obliterating a very active and large thread would cause a tumult and warnings are given in that case. If the warnings are not taken into heed, they will delete the thread.

Seriously??

Have you seen your own pics?
Spread Eagle lips in full view?
AND hosted at lit?
AND hot linked by other posters...

I personally don't care how many posts a person has.. I don't care how long their thread is. If the thread starter posts a pic in a thread which violates the rules... it should be deleted. I don't care if it is the pic... or the thread.

Now if someone hot links an "inappropriate" pic or comes into a thread and violates the rules; I think THAT person should have that pic removed and be warned/banned/etc... not the thread originator. We cannot and should not be held responsible for the actions of others in our threads ESPECIALLY if we have stated what the rules are in the actual thread. Yeah that's what happened to my second thread :)

So kiwi... you are a prime example of the inequality that exists on this forum. You have already been warned; according to your own admission, and yet continue to violate the rules. IMO your thread should be deleted :) BUT I am betting if you are reported; the offending pics will simply be deleted... because kiwi you are a woman and you have a high post count :) And before you say that it has nothing to do with your post count or sex.... Male threads with over 100 pages of replies have been deleted without warning.......... so... you tell me there isn't some sexism at play here :) Those men were not warned... their threads were simply.. DELETED.

The fact of the matter is Lit does not classify itself as a "porn site" so they are obligated by certain laws they must oblige by. Because they don't have the servers to go and check the ages of every single person that accesses the site they must have more stringent rules than regular porn sites for their subscribers. Living within the United States these laws can be very unpopular with true adults but are in place for a reason.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_status_of_Internet_pornography#United_States

These laws are what I believe to be the reason for the rules that are in place here like it or not. If you can abide by them then stay and enjoy the site. If you can't then leave and go visit a true "porn site" where you can post whatever you want but expect to have to pay their fees so they can pay their lawyers.

I have no issues with the rules - - - my issue is with he way in which these rules are enforced :)

Need more proof that gender inequality exists??

Check out post 8430 in your own thread kiwi :)
You by your own admission have been warned already about posting Rule E Violations... yet... your thread is still there. your offending pics are simply:
Last edited by AmPic Moderator : Yesterday at 11:07 PM. Reason: Picture removed by moderator, in violation with the Forum Rules

There's your proof. And before you say it's because how big your thread is.. BS:) I have seen threads with 1000+ posts by men simply DELETED :) Lemme guess in order to qualify as popular it has to have... 5000 posts?

Pffth. Hell maybe you are AmPicModerator... that would explain A LOT!

i like this dean guy, if for no other reason than he takes the time to dig through the other posts i don't care to spend time on lol

as i said before, i think the rules are stricter than they need to be...but if they are going to stay, then they need to bery very clearly explained, not this vague deffinition of what's okay for women, and a flat out NO COCK for men.

i also think it's total BS that the moderator has to hide behind a seperate user name for mod purposes! are there multiple users that are allowed to moderate from that one account? and then they don't have the backbone to make a single post in here to defend their reasoning or their actions? that's the most pathetic part of it all.

jeepman; wikipedia has 0 credibility for legal references. find a real link and i'll read it. in the mean time, i still have no idea what laws they keep blaming it on *rolls eyes*

You have 51 fucking posts. You have ZERO credibility here. Take your mouth oiff mamas nipple and go visit the GB now small child. Your time is now done here!

Abstract philosophical arguments can be made about double standards etc., but jeepman is essentially right. Lit is a site hosted in the US and must abide by US law. Thusly:

Obscene speech is not covered by the First Amendment and purveyors of obscene material are subject to legal prosecution.

To be judged "obscene", material must meet a three-part test as set forth in Miller v. California.

1. whether the average person, applying contemporary community standards would find that the work, taken as a whole, appeals to the prurient interest;
2. whether the work depicts or describes, in a patently offensive way, sexual conduct or excretory functions specifically defined by applicable state law; and
3. "whether the work, taken as a whole, lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value."

Spread pussy shots might meet criteria 1 and 3, but how does one adjudge whether "sexual conduct" is being depicted? Erections = "sexual conduct" in the courts.

Sexist? Probably. But the law is part of society, and society can be sexist. Presumably this comes as no surprise to anyone.

Admittedly, this is a big oversimplification of a really complicated legal issue.

You are too thick to get the point that Svak is making.

I love how the "vets" fail to see the reality. Spread pussy shots are being REMOVED for being inappropriate, but the entire threads are not being deleted. Now let a man post a pic of his cock.. and BOOM... thread deleted.

It is sexist. the Mods have stated that pussy shots are Rule E Violations... And according to policy the thread should be deleted ... that is per sweetvee. Unfortunately sweet is JUST the site owner and doesn't get involved in the actual moderation. This could ALL be avoided if people would simply use an outside site - plain and simple.

And you are obnoxious and utterly rude; your lack of any type of netiquette devalues your elitist/veteran opinion.

I would think you would be a little more sympathetic to the inequality seeing as how what happened to your thread.

Then again this is the same person who said they were leaving; so I take what you say with a grain of salt.

Your baby comment is hilarious seeing as you are the one who stomped his feet and posted a goodbye thread... and yet remained when that didn't get you the attention you wanted.

You are a prime example of what is wrong with this forum. Just because you have wasted thousands of posts commenting on tits and ass does not mean your opinion means any more than the next persons.

Get over yourself!

I agree, that isn't fair. The thread removal policy should be consistent. I don't know why it isn't.

On the other hand, if a thread gets removed, one can always start another one, no? *shrug*

My first day back "in the thick" of the Lit forum, I saw this sticky... The first thing I did was ask the AmPic Mod how come people were allowed to post pictures of their vaginas. I was basically told to email the owners of the site if I didn't like the rules (and my questions weren't answered)... I'm sorry, but I think the rule is ridiculous. Of course, the MEANING of it is that no gential pix whatsoever are allowed, but the sticky reads no COCK pix...

And I'm sorry, but as a straight chick who is like so many other straight chicks in the world -- the only reason I ever look at vagina is in a semi-indifferent kind of way, just comparing to myself... Like a guy in the locker room. They really hold no interest at all. I want to see the cock! I'm here. I'm horny. SHOW ME YOUR COCK. (Okay, don't REALLY post a pic of your cock, I am just sayin'...) I am very frustrated with the double standard.

I understand what the rule MEANS. I'm just annoyed by what the sticky IMPLIES.

If all these gorgeous, adorable, tastylicious, finger-lickin' good men can't show their cocks without third-party posting, why are all these vaginas being allowed?

The whole thing makes me grumble. Make the rules more clear, or put them back the way they were.

And if the mods are to busy to look at every pictures that is posted then why bother worrying the pictures, move on to others things that matter, such as people being stalked for instance.

Wait, what?! *looks caught* :D

I think all this bitching could be stopped very simply.

*Give everyone a warning. If they've been warned once, fuck 'em, they knew the rules. (Granted, making a fat ass list for all the people you've warned kind of sucks)

*Change the sticky to saying "People: No Naked Genitalia in photos - including avatars!"

I mean, really... It's that simple.

This post makes me want to touch myself -- or Dean -- inappropriately. At least, more than I already wanted to... Sexy as fuck AND he has a brain. The world is a beautiful place! ;)

Sorry he just annoys me. I had no issue with him until he hijacked someone else's thread with his completely unnecessary snide comment. And then I saw his comment here and it just pissed me off. Posters who think their post count entitles them to special privileges or an opinion that matters... have such self inflated egos it is hilarious. This is an erotic site not a MENSA forum. Your contribution of "nice tits" times 5000 does not grant you anything more than the person with 50 posts.

/end rant

No need to apologize. I saw a post of his on another thread and bit my tongue. I don't understand the need to tear people down. Apparently he enjoys it though, or is upset about something and lashing out at people who shouldn't be getting slapped around because he's not happy with himself.

I don't know. It's late as fuck and I am about to start saying stupid shit. That also happens when I'm too tongue-tied because of hot boys here on Lit. So yeah, this is probably my cue to go to bed. :)

I really do not think anything sexist or any kind of favouritism has been going on in this place....just inconsistency, Aj and others got it right, apply the same rules to all and no problem, give one warning to all and a chance to remove offensive material and if no result then delete the thread, I actually feel guilty having been given a warning, while people I know have threads deleted, it just feels wrong. Rules only work when they are clear in plain language and consistent.......and for a forum that prides itself in it's use of language it is pretty poor form to have all this trouble caused. It also appears that now some are being given warnings about hotlinking......so come on guys, get it sorted, if the rules are clear and consistent all will be good.
