Embarras de Richesse

A Strong Debut, and an Old Pro with Weak Technicals

Rowdygal22 makes a strong debut with "It's Always Been You". Good, sweet and hot, and a well-drawn depiction of a relationship. Good technicals, no quibbles.

DG Hear is back with "An Affair I'll Remember". It's a long story, and the technicals are very weak for an accomplished author. In fact, there were so many errors I didn't bother quibbling. He says he has an editor; exactly what said editor contributed I could not tell. That said, the plot is very realistic. The commentators who want their stories wrapped up in neat packages may cavil, but DG leaves a number of details up in the air. Just like real life. And his characters are believable.

Another Strong Debut - And A Strong Series

Legsbian writes a real good first-timer in So I Went To One Of Those Parties. A lesbian Huck Finn? Good narration, decent mechanicals.
And a plug for an author for whom I copy edit, Ilmonamour, now on board with Ch 4 of Reading the Defense. If it were a stand-alone story, she'd win the SA Penn Lady Stakes in a walk.

The Great Syd Scores Again

Ch 8 of How to Save a Life is tete-de-cuvee Sydney Blake. Just gets better. Brava to Syd for a wonderful series.

And to make up for an omission, kudos to Irate Quaker for "Ah, The Life Of A Geek", a funny and happy Nude Day story. Good storytelling.

Just When I Thought Sydney Blake Had Peaked

she brings out another stormer from "How To Save A Life". Chapter 9 provides a climax (pun intended) to Mack's and Rena's relationship. Good hot sex and really fine character development. Love it, Syd! More!

K'AnneMeinel had a great story idea with Ghostly Love, but the mechanicals were awful. I think s/he deleted my public comment, which is OK with me, if only s/he puts more effort into writing it right. She had a fine story line, Stacey is believable and Renata makes me want to suspend my disbelief, but the mechanicals are just appalling. I actually gave up a much-desired whiskey sour to quibble the whole thing, it was that good, but it felt like two hours of shoveling snow.

Ilmonamour continues a fine series with Chapter 5 of "Reading the Defense". And I plead guilty to missing a typo in the second paragraph--"go to" should be "got to". It's a long walk back to the bench when you miss a block, even when you're hustling back.

Yes, there is a motivation issue in the conflict between Gabe and Sam, as one commentator pointed out; but that exceeds my remit as copy editor. I therefore leave plot and characterization to the author and the others who collaborated with her. She, with their help, has crafted a really fine story.

Nigel Debonnaire's Nude on the Bering Sea deserves more credit than it's gotten so far. A sea story well told.

PoissonSurLaLune Has a Good Story

in Dom and Lisa. Despite my copyediting quibbles, which Poisson disregarded as is his/her good right, the story is a good one. Poisson is a good storyteller. I gave it a high rating, as it certainly is sweet and hot.

Sydney Blake's "How to Save a Life" just gets better. I just beta-read Ch 10, and ol' Syd is on a roll. Not yet published, but watch for it.

DG Hear also has a new series, not yet published. I've been doing some light copy editing, and DG's many fans won't be disappointed. What's-his-name in VA, who always puts the blast on DG, will no doubt have his usual jeers, but who cares? Ol' DG can sure tell a tale.

A Very Fine Effort

mechanicals aside, which led to a nine-page quibble, was LunaEroticaMystica's Lavender and Love. What a beautiful concept, lovingly and erotically told! This lady can tell a tale. I don't do hours' worth of quibbles for any but the top of the class. Luna, you're professional grade!

Vive La Corse!

And Letters From Tatyana's love story about the Corsican woman at Harvard is a winner. Extremely fine mechanicals (one tiny typo quibble), a really believable set of characters, and an ending that leaves you wanting more.

The Nude Day contest has produced some fine work.

Sydney Blake rolled out Ch 10 of "How to Save a Life", and Syd is definitely on yet another roll. Can't praise the story enough.

And Stella Omega just posted a scorcher of a story, to go with the present heat wave. Meeting Robby is dynamite storytelling and ultra-hot sex. This writer is definitely premier league.

Hail to the Victors

D_Lynn's stunning Tribal Unity certainly is worthy of high praise, and shows a mastery of plot and character; but on balance I still preferred LunaEroticaMystica's brilliant Lavender and Love. Howbeit, hail to the victors of the Nude Day Contest! Keep writing!! I eagerly await your next efforts.

D_Lynn is throwing heat! Coming off her win in the Nude Day competition, her latest story, Games We Played, is hot, and her dialogue and characterization is spot-on, as our British cousins say. Incest is not my category. As a general rule I'm a Romance, EC and Lesbian fancier for my own reading pleasure, but this story is good stuff.

DG Hear's new series "Am I Guilty?" is a crime story with a twist, Well worth reading, especially now that I copy edited it.

And Ilmonamour is about to conclude her wonderful "Reading the Defense" series, but she promises a return some day to Brad and Sam. Eagerly waiting.

Much love....

You know I have much love for ya E. How have I missed your thread? Thank you for mentioning the bad boy that is! Happy Friday :)

A stroker with some really good writing is "A Daring Chance" by nymphobrainiac. Her scores are just below "H" so far, but her writing isn't. A better grade of stroke.

Thucydides’ Share the Road is a winner, as is Pussrider’s IC3 Female, a police procedural that is anything but routine. Good stuff today.

And of course, the last chapter of Ilmonamour’s Reading the Defense, the finale to a monumental debut by a hot (in every sense of the word) new talent. You go, girl!!!

Fetish, Anyone?

Although not on my usual reading list, I must give kudos to GirlWithBoots for a watersports entry that transcends the usual piss-and-shit school of writing. Her story My First Bathroom Incident, once you get past the turn-off title, is hot, and psychologically interesting. Her protagonist becomes real. A very hot story, and more than just another stroker for the more exotically inclinded.

It has been suggested that a little more than copy editing has been going on behind the scenes of this thread, and I just want to set the record straight. I, Sydney Blake, have NOT been privately sending images of a lascivious nature to the originator of this thread in exchange for public praise.

I cannot vouch for PennLady, however.

Or those other little tarts.

Sydney, I'm appalled. As though a married mother of two like myself would do such a thing.

He made me.
