Opinions on NBC's Dracula?

I tried to watch the premier last week but there were some nasty distractions and interruptions. My computer hates Hulu and the NBC website as well, so I didn't get to watch it online to see what I missed.

I would not bother with sleepy hollow if I were you have watched only one episode and fell asleep, however, the originals is completely another story and must admit I am a fan after only two episodes and i could not really get into vampire diaries although the books by L J smith are a really good read.

I actually enjoy Sleepy Hallow. While I wish it had a little more horror, the only other thing I don't like is that it's obvious there's only one storyline, and it makes me wonder just how long they can drag this out. But other than that, it's very entertaining.

The Originals is good. I don't know how confusing it might be for someone who hasn't seen TVD or know the Original vampire's history, but Joseph Morgan makes it worth it. Yum.

Also tried to watch Reign. Very soap opera-ish, and I don't like it. At all.

I've heard of it but I don't have Showtime, just HBO and stupid Starz. I really want Showtime, though. The shows are wittier somehow. I really liked The Big C and United States of Tara, was super bummed when the last one was canceled. Weeds was okay but I got so freaking sick of Nancy. I've been catching up on Dexter, which I think is going to get old eventually. I have a big crush on Michael C. Hall and have since Six Feet Under.

What else? Hm. Walking Dead seems like it's stuck in low gear or something, urgh. Still haven't started The Blacklist despite my Spader obsession. Mostly I don't have time to do anything except mine Netflix for stuff to watch in the hour of free time I have every night. Suggestions?

The Walking Dead kind of dulled a lot last season. I don't know, the whole Governor vs. Rick thing got old. I really like the pace of this season though.

American Horror Story: Coven still finds a way to blow my mind.

I got bored of Dexter. I've just started watching Supernatural. I didn't want to like it, but, apparently, I have no choice. They start you right off with a mythology and world, and I love that sort of thing.
I've been liking Walking Dead this season, I think its moving really nicely.

Yeah, Supernatch is a black hole. I didn't want to like it either but I got sucked in around season four. Can't stop now. I tried to read the Dexter books first and the narrative was so flat - well, obviously, sociopath - that I just kind of zoned out eventually. The show is a lot easier to stick with but I can see how it could get gimmicky fast.

I'm not sure what it is about Walking Dead this season.

I tried to make a spoiler box for an additional comment and the stupid thing didn't work!

Man, I must be the only one thinking that! Grr, what's wrong with me? And I've been hearing this season of AHS is good. Gonna have to get into it. I'll never complain about watching Jessica Lange.

I got a little tired of the govenor myself.
I wish I could watch Coven...but only Netflix and Amazon :(

Yeah, although he's an enjoyable character just because he's such a jackass. But I spend at least half of every episode with him yelling at the TV, so... I run the gamut of Walking Dead emotions usually.

I'm excited about AHS3 and Ravenswood. Can't wait for the Dr. Who special. Waiting a bit before watching the Escape Artist.

I've been watching Leverage like a happy dork and loving it! Too bad that show is over. It makes me want to write a Robin Hoodesque story.

Supernatural is great and terrible! LoL - I'm trying to catch up. Rewatching S5 right now. I think that's around where it lost me.

Dexter as a character is a ton of fun. The show? Eh? It gets old if I watch the episodes in a row.

Sleepy Hollow is fun. It has potential.

The Walking Dead continues to have the potential to be a great show, but continues to piss it away. It almost feels like they're aiming for 'just okay' at this point.

I don't have Showtime, either, but I know this little inlet of peglegged folk that lets me see that shows that happen to air there. That's how I've kept up with Homeland, though I'm not sure what I think about it this season, either.

Walking Dead haters, all of you!

Maybe they're just working more on character development this season, rather than story. *Shrugs.*

Is it good? I've thought about checking it out.

I don't actually have Showtime, either...

I didn't know what I was going to think of it, but I'm six weeks in, and I'm just loving it. It's funny, fascinating, a little sexy, and surprisingly touching. I cried and cried, at the end of the last episode. Unexpected.

The acting is fantastic, and the 50s decor and styles are cute, but it's also a revealing - and rather sad - look at what life was like for women, in that era. Makes me want to talk to my grandmother. But - not about sex.

Fun! I'll put Masters of Sex on the list to check out. I tried watching Bomber Girls and I ended up pretty much despising it by the third episode.

Mad Men is another show that I should be into and yet it fails to pull me in storywise. I'll give that another go at some point.

Anyone watch the Killing? I wrapped up season one by watching it with one eye and listening with one ear.

Rufflybutt you have no idea what you're talking about. I thought this week was superb. Carl is growing up, Rick is finally waking up and the depth of awesome that is Hershell.. come on.. I watched that last bit and couldn't stop thinking how you could write a character with that much depth, and would fucking rock it.

Seeing the governor at the end.. oi. That man is evil. But I can't stop thinking about him as the Next Doctor! Seriously.

I'm finding the gendered divisions within the storyline are repeating. We had to hate Lori all first and second season, she was a non-player before she gave birth. Then Andrea and her ridiculousness with the governor and now they are setting up Carol in the same way. All these women have served to further Rick's character in some way, to bring about the fall or salvation of the group. But the male characters are either good (Rick, Hershell, Glenn), bad then good (Daryl, Meryl) or bad, bad, bad (the governor). Michonne remains one of the last holdovers of this trope and as the WOC, there are other tropes she serves to represent (mainly being a total badass).

Eh.. I thought this last episode was brilliantly shot, it feels like they are taking cues from Breaking Bad, looking for clues within the set and character clothing choice to drive the story (Carl is back in his hat, Rick's clothing is getting closer to his old uniform..).

I'll stop.

Ugh. The scene where it focused on the gun in the background, then the pod or whatever in the foreground. Come on!

I do like the character development - and seriously, if we don't get more Michonne I'm going to start throwing shit - but the plot has been a little scattered for me, that's all. Pacing is a little strange, but like I said, I'm pretty sure it's just because it's in a transition period. The prison is obviously going to shit and so stuff is moving around. Like any move, it's a little weird.

I really have a big problem with the representation of women on that show. I hear a lot of people excuse it with, "Well, society would revert to..." and I just want to hit someone.

Yeah, Michonne has been criminally underused as a slayer of bitey things thus far. But, Andrea was an awesome badass in the comics and was just the worst ever, so it's not terribly shocking.

I do agree. They give us these new characters and we don't see much about them. The alcoholic medic guy? I still have a bad feeling about him.

And seriously, after everything that's happened at the prison, I would have left it a long time ago!
