I really love this. She appears so serene. Much of Stephen McClures work in my limited experience is quite disturbing. Theres one I have stored somewhere , the 'model' appears on a stainless bench the waxplay , her facial expression etc gives the impression of death.

20 mins or so later Okay back......found them

This partial panel of a work by Hieronymous Bosch was displayed in my High School

Library . I recall being entranced by it. Perhaps it was the details. The complex pursuits

portrayed well out of any conceptual cognitive base for that time.

Question : Is it erotic ?

Apologies in advance if this has been posted previously on this Thread. I

am still on dial up here and have yet to be afforded the luxary of exploring the entire

thread to date. Paint dries faster than my computer displays imagery..........sighs

I think they are excellent.

I like anything that evokes something in you, whether positively or negatively.

Well, you could describe the piece and we could try and guess what it is... I'm not that bad in art history...

These were most certainly inspired by the Story of O.

And many thanks to ta AA for his Japanese/Corean series...

Chauderlos, I like the sensuous realism of first one in particular. The crinkles in her stocking behind the knee and in her lingerie beneath the breast, the pull of the stocking-edge and garters as her thighs stretch...such details make a very intimate picture.

You are very welcome.
The fashion victim in me craves the Dior logo on the stoking hem, in the second picture.

Althrough one could argue the political uncorrectness of some of the wicked ukyo-e you provide, AA, they carry a poetical sense I cannot resist *ahh, shibari...*

Here are two more, for you to enjoy...

I'm SO glad you're back.

Please, for those for whom this message is just plain Chinese - enjoy the pics, and allow me to enjoy the private pleasure of knowing that someone I miss is back, somewhere around here....

Ancient Greek vase paintings would often make me feel a little funny when I was doing research in the art library. Funny in the most pleasant of ways, of course. These weren't the vases the professor showed in class. These were the vases I encountered in obscure dusty German texts when I was working on research papers.

I've attached a couple of good ones found online (Men with Hetaira and Zeus Courting Ganymede). There are many more examples at http://www.johntunger.com/gal_eros.html

I couldn't resist not slicing these together almost in tribute to posts of the last few pages of this thread.

I personally find breathtaking is the semi distressed hair of the subjects and suggestion that it had been stylized before. The bare skin against snow.......hmmmn

Just laughing at myself here however as I post these comments as its summer in Australia and I am feeling quite hot.....smiles......wonder if that is in fact the allure of snow on skin....

And here it goes... this thing can never end, from the oldest greek vases to the state-of-the-art photoshopping....
