Well I'm not the one who voted for the needles either, but I did vote for the second least favorite- slappers- and of course floggers

I know that different floggers age beter for different things. If you had a limit to how many you could have (lets say 2) whitch ones should you definatly have. The one I have is medium heavy and suede. I've been told that I should have a lighter one to warm up? Is that realy neccisary? Or is that more of a personal like or dis-like?

I know it alot of questions....I was just wondereing if I should rush out to get another one or not (they arn't cheap!) This one has been just lovely by itself

I know that depending on how I hold it and fold it
I can get a number of different kinds of pain from it

I think the reason that floggers are so popular is that they are versatile. One flogger can produce sensations ranging from soft and sensual to hard and stingy. I have a wonderful flogger like the one posted in the link for Master Leather Works. The falls are pointy... It feels wonderful when it is lightly drug over my body, then when flogging it produces a very nice thuddy sensation that is much like a hard massage. It can also be stingy due to the pointed tips when used for tipping.

Floggers are really one of the best toys you can get for your money. I have 5 different types of floggers, each used for different purposes, two of which will leave marks... (those are homemade).

Floggers, I love to use them, to feel them used on me, and even purely as a collectible item. I have a whole rack of them. I have about two dozen, ranging from a 3 foot long buffalo hide, down to the softest little deerskin. I have 2 Jeanette Heartwoods, one bullhide and one moose.
Does anyone like horsehair? I enjoy using it, but totally can not stand feeling it on myself.

I love horsehair floggers used toward the end of hard play, when i'm so sensitive and welted that air across my skin makes me shake and moan. At that point, horsehair used even gently feels like a trillion distinct and tiny lines of sensation. Even just dragging the tips of the falls across my skin at that point is effective; nothing feels like horsehair but horsehair. Nothing else is so pliable but so scratchy and strong at the same time.

i voted for floggers, too. But my favorite is this thing that i think the guy who sold it to us called a flogger. But the tresses are made of thin rattan (thinner than a cane). i guess there are maybe 20 of them. It's not as stingy as a cane, actually quite thuddy. Until it, i had always preferred stingy, but i really, really, really like this thing.

Actually, i've been around here a little. Not too much, i'm shy even on the net.

About the flogger, i went and looked, it has 30 slightly curved thin (about half the size of the cane we have) rattan sticks? or tresses? coming out of the metal handle. They are about 2 feet long (maybe not quite). It looks like a flogger made out of rattan. It is also not nearly as menacing as it looks, and i've never seen another one. To be perfectly honest, he has never used it except when i was already in subspace, and i really don't feel any of it as much then, but it is no where near as bad as the cane. Maybe because it is thinner or because they all hit at once, it doesn't really sting unless you use the tips. Oh, and it does sting if you soak it in water first. Anyway i really like it. It doesn't really feel like anything else we have, so i have a hard time describing it. My hus/Dom is prone to blindfolding me, but i can always tell when it's coming by the sound. It makes a little of the swish sound that a cane makes, but not as loud and it also kind of rattles.

We got it at the fetish flea market in Atl. but i don't remember who from, but it was the only one we saw. My hus/dom got a lot of cards though so he might know.

Ummm.. not sure if it feels like a strap or belt. The falls are not really wide, but very thick. It's a very stingy sensation. If you like stingy then the quirt is just perfect for you.

There are all kinds of quirts out there ranging in thickness of the falls. You can order them from most tack shops with no questions asked. I just happened to run across this one, I can email the guy and see if he is willing to make a bunch.

You have made me wonder though, about the ways we were punished as children, and how they affect the things we like as adults.If I were beaten badly with a belt as a girl, I doubt I would want it as an adult, it would seem likely to bring back unpleasant memories.
