FOOD: Weird to others, normal to you

Bagel Burgers.

Take one plain bagel, slice it open. then make a burger.. when the burger is almost done, take the sliced bagel top side on top of the patty an bottom on top of the top side of the bagel. Cover and let heat/steam soften that Bagel up

remove all from heat, dress as desired... an that is part of how I became a Diabetic.

Let's see..

I eat cooked beets with mayo.

I'll take an avocado, mash it up, add a splash of evaporated milk and a tablespoon of sugar (or in my case now, a tablespoon of non sweetner, crush up some saltine crackers and mix it all together for a quick meal or a quick snack.

(damn good thing I don't indulge in it very often.. like maybe once a year)

My Mum's specialty for Christmas eve. Giblet soup. The entire family calls around after midnight Mass for bowls of it with crusty bread rolls. Once a year thing, and it's absolutely amazing.

Also, something that amazes me ( not saying I've seen it mentioned here). But I never understand when making stuffings for the Christmas turkey, that the carcass isn't stuffed. I see it in so many recipes where it's cooked separately and I never see the point. ie , stuffings = stuffing the turkey.

I mix a can of tuna, a chopped up tomato and cucumber with balsamic vinaigrette and eat it with wheat thins.

Coffee with condensed milk - counts as both sugar and creamer - makes the coffee takes like dessert! Not that wierd but oh so good :)

One of my most favorite dishes ever is the Spinach Pie that my mom gave me the recipe for.

It's a mixture of creamed spinach, whole eggs in an oven tray covered in pastry. It is absolutely delishious, but when I tell people aboout it, they say "eh... what?..."

that sounds like quiche

They aren't strange at all, but not everyone outside of Saint Louis has heard of them. Toasted ravioli is the first and gooey butter cake is the other. Both are amazing in their own respects.

Gooey butter cake. *falls over with a soft thud*

Back in grade school someone once dared me to eat my mashed potatoes with my strawberry jello from the school lunch. It tasted good. So to do this day I sometimes mix my mashed potatoes and jello.
