I would like to hear some opinions on this from some women. Is it true?
Is it true that men who are too emotionally open are a turn-off? Maybe. But I'm not keen on women who are too emotionally open either. On the other hand, I'm certainly not looking for a man who's "like a rock." If I'm TMG, I'm in the middle of the male/female spectrum and I tend to like both men and women who are also in the middle of the spectrum. It's possible that women who are on one side of the spectrum prefer men who are on the other.

I would consider myself somewhere in the middle as well.
I think the initial impression I give to people is probably more masculine, agressive, gothic, punk and that is probably part of the reason more people don't open up to me as much as I would like. I like acting like a tough hardass but it's really only skin deep.
I also wouldn't describe myslef as particularly emotional but I also don't shy away from where I am at emotionally.
The conversation has kind of veered in the direction of emotional or overly emotional men but it's not really what I was thinking of.
I am thinking about men who are not afraid to talk about emotional issues not necessarily men who are extremely emotional.
I think of it more like an empathetic ear when it seems a lot of guys don't want to fill that role.

One of my best friends is a lesbian I met just recently. It's amazing how well we have clicked. It's really great because we can talk about girls kinda like guy talk but we also talk about some of the more emotional and relationshipy kind of stuff that would be considered girl talk. It's like the perfect happy medium.
Of course she it totally hot and awsome which can be kinda distracting from the whole good friends thing but I'll manage. :D

TMG anyone?

for me it's like i'm the stereotypical, requisite gay guy friend... 'cept i'm straight. :D

You sound just like my guy. He's definitely in touch with his feminine side and I love that about him. He's told me that he loves that I share my stuff with him and he's glad that he's my rock. He's also said on several occasions that I am his confidante as well.

He sounds like a keeper, Denae! Wonderful! :rose:

Sometimes the talk gets very personal and yes, dirty.

Sometimes I share it with my S.O.

There are a few certain things I would not talk with to my gf's.

Mostly I hear from them what they are NOT happy with, frustrated by and so on. We laugh, we cry, we hug and breathe. Then we are ready to go home to our loved ones who may or may not have driving us nuts a short while before.
