Give and Take

But I also have no illusions that some are.....real. That they did not like the story, it was too long, it was grammar mistakes, it was what I did with a character, maybe my style.....but point is there are people who at the end just did not like the story and they have the right to express their displeasure.
I do not bomb but I *have* voted 1s a couple times, because I thought the story deserved that score -- due to lousy writing, a lousy treatment of a lousy subject, and just general rottenness. It takes a LOT to draw a 1-vote from me. Usually I just skip past the dreck.

I know that some of my negative comments and low votes are due to unmet expectations -- no, BIG BANANA is *not* erotic Incest, and the cheating Loving Wife in UNDER HIS EYES *does* get away scot-free, and readers who weren't pandered to expressed their displeasure by making these my two lowest- scored stories, even though they're IMHO well-written.

So, is a low-scoring story lousy, or challenging, or both?
