With all due respect to men in non-matrimonial long-term deep relationships (or to women who might suffer from a similar affliction), married-man parallax syndrome exhibits itself as an extension of a man's inability to belive wholeheartedly in his own worth. We can never see ourselves from the same vantage point as the women who love us and so in regarding ourselves we never quite get it right due to the parallax error. The women who love us - they usually get it right.

Oh, and this is really just me using sub-surface pseudopsychosexual symbolism to say the same thing that Scaly said several posts back.
