I try to stay away from calm, depressing or quiet things... I am a recovering cutter, so I stay as far away from Evanescence's Bring Me to Life as I can... "bid my blood to run, before I come undone", it ALWAYS gets me... So, I pop in some Less Than Jake, my hip hop-ish mixed CD, or my Britney Spears CD(which has a very special connection to my best friends) and just bounce around the room... or watch some of those Suprised by Design-type shows ^-^ I've always wanted to be on those shows... LoL... I stay away from the internet, tho.. it tends to get me more depressed, the fact that I have no in real life friends... o_O Or I sleep! It's the redeamer of my soul ^-^

Less Than Jake is rad. They always cheer me up!

I quite agree... my favorite song is "She's Gonna Break Soon", followed by... "Johnny Quest Thinks We're Sellouts" and quite a long list of others ^-^ another fav is Pennywise, they rock... I've also got into the whole downloading punk remakes of old songs... I have the whole shebang from Grease, you ever heard those remakes?

I am reminded of a "Dilbert" where Dilbert says to Dogbert "You know that REALLY good feeling you get when you first put a new Q-tip in your ear? Is that a sin?"
Dogbert replies "Well, no, I don't think so."
Dilbert says "Good. I used the whole box."

:D

I'm on Scott Adam's e-mail list, he's even mailed me a few times when I've sent him stuff in response to it..nice guy.
He is part owner of a restaurant in Cali and hangs at a bar near where a friend of mine out there lives, I'd like to meet him one day.

I never bought that CD because I've never seen Grease  I know, I should be ashamed, right? lol. I do love punk covers of old songs though. I have a ton of CDs that have stuff like that on them. Ska ones too.

C

Ysa makes me so proud, a few short weeks a go she was a novice stalker, now she's all grown up and stalking on her own..sniff:( ;) I'll just have to curl up with a good book or 17 and popcorn and hide for a bit. I'm think Wish, by Clamp. Since I spilled over in the Yaoi thread, I might as well come clean here, too..

My name is mari, and I'm a manga addict.. It has been less than 12 hours since my last indulgence..

No offence meant to any of our 12 steppers out there, and no 12 steppers were harmed in the posting of this post.. (or angels, or devils....)

OMG... I gotta look that one up, do you know who re-made it? I <3 that song... I bet it's cool... I did the original version of "Baby Got Back" for a drag show, dressed up like a guy and everything, it was fun... except the taping of the boobs, that huuuurts... but, I got to bootie dance with the queens and be all rapper-ish, so I had fun ^-^

I'm on my way to being a manga addict, I don't have the $$$ to feed the addiction yet, that money is paying for my favorite anime series and Queer as Folk on DVD right now... ^-^ but, I am all about a good anime and some definate yaoi fan fiction... there's so many good stories out there... have you ever gotten into that realm of the anime/manga world?

It's by Throwdown. It's on a comp CD called "Too Legit for the Pit: Hardcore Takes the Rap".

Some other tracks include:
-Mama Said Knock You Out
-The Humpty Dance
-Bust A Move
-and many more

I think someone told me that the Offspring did a version of it too but I have never been able to find it.

Yup, I'm all into yaoi also, there's a thread on that over in the GLBT forum. (I'd link it, but the last link I linked went astray..)

As for the $$$$ to support my addiction, I don't have a lot of disposable income to support my addiction, but I have 3 people locally and two people in Texas that I trade with.

Here's the theory, you go to the bookstore and browse, and write down the titles that you can't live without, then you go home, call your buddies and see who has what and who is planning on getting what. Then you call the three used bookstores in town that deal with manga and then you buy..

Lotta work, but it saves lots of $$$$.

This thread is long on pleasure short on guilt. I want GUILT! I want confessions of lovin' truly tasteless shit! You highfalutin wimps, gimme cheese!

This indie rock brainy chick confesses to:

Steely Dan.

No, really. I want to hide my face and cry now. Baby Boomer Elevator music, cheez whiz.

Strange Jewish Soul Food comforts:

Egg noodles and cottage cheese. Sardines and cream cheese smashed up on wheat toast.

More food weirdness:

Pixie Stix. And Jujubees the little things you can break a tooth on that taste of glycerine alone.

For films you never heard me say I saw that make me laugh: Joe Dirt. Better off Dead. The Ladies' Man.

There. Now I want to crawl into a hole.

Oh, and one more for the Mother Superior:

I play RTCW. So very badly.

Guilty pleasures, you say?

Hmmm, i have a small list..(but do not tell ANYONE or i will categorically deny it!!!!)

1. Reading Harlequin Romance novels when i am depressed.
2. Watching old horror flicks and eating popcorn so buttery that it makes arteries clog just by smelling it!! (and the movies run the gamut from *Halloween* to cheesy flicks from the 50's and 60's like *The Attack of the Killer Tomatoes* and *The Blob*)
3. Headbanging to old Metallica, Alice in Chains, Alice Cooper, Megadeath, ZZTop, Ozzy, AC/DC.
4. Writing awful, murderous rages in poetic form.

There you go...

HEY!!!!!! I LIKE your poetry!!!!!!!!

But as far as guilt goes welllllll I've always had a problem with that one I guess......

A minor addiction to B-movie science fiction.
Oh- Bad Vampire movies are the best - the ex and I used to cal em " Neck suckers"
I did pick up half a case of beer and a couple of pizzas and watch the entire "Nightmare on Elm St. " set, At one time.

anyone else find a guilty pleasures thread in a BDSM forum a bit ironic?

1 sugar even though i know it's toxic, messes up my energy levels and impairs psychic protection, I can only resist for so long.

2 coveting my neighbour's ass

3 naps whenever i feel like it anytime anywhere. and after waking from the nap, sometimes the Neverending Bath, piping hot. sea salts, lavender buds, floating rose petals, head under the water as if i were elsewhere. daydreamy introversion all the livelong day is my guilty pleasure.

A guilty pleasure- the gift thereof

Welll.......

Here's a guilty pleasure for you..

This is my one hundred and first post to the boards.... While (of course ) I should be off doing something productive instead.
