Guilty pleasures....

thinks of a certain dime to quarter sized area that roughens as it becomes engorged with blood ...

... as for guilty pleasures, I thought of another. I love fall. I like to stop and just stare at the trees for hours on end and I especially love the way street lamps will make the yellow and orange leaves glow at night. I love fall so much that sometimes I feel foolish about it. Sadly, and yet not sadly, I'm in Miami this fall and there is no coloring of the leaves... I'd complain but I spent the day by the pool so I think that would be unfair and ridiculous of me to complain.

Ooook ... anatomy class, and forgive the generalizations up front, your body may vary.

Within the barrel composing a female human's vagina, using this distinction because i've never gone looking anywhere else, is a spot varying in size from a dime to quarter. Yeah, i gave the google reference because i didn't want to get involved in a debate over what the hell that spot was. i just know what happens when i go looking for it. The link given seems adequate to me.

Now, back to hooked wonders. Imagine that hook, gently applied to the swollen, rough, sensitive tissue.

Still confused?

Dammit. I was hoping for a diagram. *sigh*

Well not really a diagram, but still fun to look at.

Debates the wisdom of matching "blades" ... crocheting hook versus knitting needles ...

i hope you've got a back-up gun on your ankle.

Well that and .........other things .

But where they are shall remain a mystery.

Perhaps I was. Truly, it wasn't bravery, just my weird notion of humor.

I'll stop my silliness and allow the thread to return to its original intention.... guilty pleasures.

I love museums. I don't feel guilty about it but it is nerdy yes? And isn't loving something nerdy sort of similar to a guilty pleasure? I also like touring historic homes. In the past two months, I've been to three museums (one science, two art), one historic home, and the aquarium. Hooray for student discounts.

SkylineBlue, sounds as if you are overdue for a trip to Amsterdam....place is full of history, museums, art galleries, and notable residences from times gone by. I think you might love it.

and if all else fails, kittycat can take you down to the redlight district, and ... hmm, searching for a word here ... rejuvenate your soul by shock, or any means possible.

Remembers Scheveningen and smiles.

Shock, nah, just sexuality as it should be....open, relaxed, and honest.

Not to mention some incredible public housing projects! I get a little dorky when it comes to architecture. I go all weak kneed. And there are many cities in Europe besides Amsterdam on my list .... Rome, Paris, Berlin, Athens, BarcelonaVienna ... and so many wonderful works of architecture.

__ when I say weak kneed, it's not entirely sexual ... sometimes I find architecture sexy but mostly I just find it awe-inspiring when done well.

I can relate to that, one of the things that I spend my time loving here is the architecture, especially commercial buildings. They are like nothing I have seen elsewhere and so creative and beautiful all at once, not to mention amazing as to how they manage to make them stand and not fall or collapse at times!! I also have a love affair going with some of the modern bridges here. Master finds it amusing I am wanting to go photographing bridges and business buildings when I find a way to be able to safely stop and get a great, safe vantage point for the best angles. Don't want to get a huge fine like they like to do here, or worse, mashed. LOL.

What's the sexiest building...I'm trying to think.

I'm thinking US. I love Paris but no one thing blew me away so much, guess I'm a hometown girl.

Has to be deco. None of this Mies sleek black box, much as I love them.

"the chrysler building was talkin' to the Empire State
the Twin Towers were talkin' to each other
saying 'all is forgiven
I love you still'
and we're home, home goin' home."

Chrysler.

Total Nerd. Art, Arch and Indie Rock.

There are times when I'm so sick of architecture, it makes me want to scream. And other times when I fall in love all over again. Some days I lament that I do not want to be an architect, other days I dream of being the next big name in architecture.

I have no favorite single building but I have a number of favorite firms/architects. Sometimes it's a wonderful thing to be an architecture student.

Can relate to that...study tends to do that for a time. The beauty of Dutch commercial buildings, well the ones I love, are they are far from conventional, being extremely innovative and different, and for some they also must be monuments to engineering challenges as well. Is interesting they have incorporated the innovation and individuality with beauty as well and succeeded.

I just thought of another guilty pleasure....

Anyone else here love jigsaw puzzles? Every year at christmas there is one box that is shaped just right that I know when I pick it up that it will make that sound of dried bits of cardboard falling over each other. I really like the ones that are funny shaped so that there are no straight edges, the two sided ones and oh yeah, the 3d ones that are made of foam so you can reproduce famous works of architecture on your kitchen table. I have three of those.

I love jigsaw puzzles.
It's always a hassle finding someone to share them with or time & space to do them.
I have a really super cool one I got as a gift from one of my suppliers last year, a 1' high 3' long 1000+ piece map of the Cote D'Or and Cote D'Beaune in Burgundy that's stil in the box *sigh*
