The issue you raise is at the heart of how critical it is to find the exact right size, I'd say. "Stretched out" ... like it lost some of it's elastic quality? If so, you likely got an inferior or defective ring. If you are slipping out of any ring then it is likely too large or too damaged.

If you stretched the ring to get it on then you can simply stretch the ring to get it off.

If it is a rigid (i.e. metal) ring then you will need to wait for arousal and erection to wane. If a metal ring is tight enough to prevent loss of erection then you made a poor decision to put on an improper size. Call for help within 30 minutes.

Worth adding to Scott's wise words: Learning the art of fitting and removing a rigid cockring takes a while for most of us but is worth doing! Mate my experience with several silicone rings at the pricey end of the market even is that they do eventually stretch out to some degree. If you want to be absolutely sure that you won't get a ball slip out while you're flaccid, I'd recommend you take the plunge and learn how to size and fit on [and take off!] a solid ring whether steel of whatever. That way the internal diameter is precisely the same years later so you know exactly what you've got.

Rings designed for around the shaft only need to come off like you say mate. Rings made of stretchy silicone which have a really good grip to give a total max to you when erect also need to come off like you say mate.

This is a valid rule of thumb but lacks the context to be meaningful. It is true, you should avoid going over 20 minutes when fully engorged with blood flow restricted. Silicone, rubber, metal, whatever ... more than 20 minutes of restricted blood flow can lead to damage.

Stretchable rings have a tourniquet type effect, creating some pressure when you are flaccid and even more pressure when erect. As you try to lose the erection they shrink back to their original size and may continue to restrict blood flow.

Rigid (i.e. metal) rings properly sized exert no outside pressure of their own. The only restrictive constraint is driven by enlargement of erectile tissue pushing outward against the ring. This offers a gentle erectile boost but does not force an erection. As arousal wanes, erectile tissues soften naturally, the ring does not constrict in the process, and blood escapes readily. Blood flow remains unrestricted until arousal returns.

Key to general misconceptions about cock rings (I believe) is that they are assumed to force an erection. The good ones don't and I have no interest in wearing one that does. I do like to wear my metal rings all day though.

Hey Armyvet I don't know those rings nor do I know the degree of ed you are living with but I'll try and offer something.

I believe that for most guys wearing a ring around his whole package, that is behind his balls and over the base of his shaft, is the best erection enhancement. A ring on just the shaft can be so uncomfortable that erection is lost by distraction!

I'm not so keen on "more stretchy smaller ones" as you want to avoid an uncomfortable restriction going on. slightly larger and no stretch at all, ie steel, is what I find most effective.

A ring alone will not sort erectile dysfunction. I suggest it can be a really useful tool along with the other stuff: healthy lifestyle, reduction of anxiety, and either medication or herbal supplement regime as appropriate. In a word, a cockring will enhance the erection which you achieve by other means, it will not 'give' you one.

My rings are "loose" when I'm flaccid and only tighten up when maybe 3/4 hard. I know what too hard feels like and that kinda scares me.
